Fate of Diath?

Without going into the RL stuff codename seem to be keeping very quiet about the whole issue and the champion in the game, however maybe it's just me but since all the trouble he's not appeared as a weekend hero, his chests are never on sale and he's not appeared in the timegates.
Now all of this could just be random however the next event I believe is the Midsummer Event which was Diath's 1st appearance event and I guess in that we will see if the hero has been blacklisted or not.

Don't know what RL stuff you're talking about (and honestly I'm not interested), but I see Diath in the timegates from time to time.

Diath rolled a nat 1 on his stealth check, got caught and tried to talk his way out of it but he failed his speech check. The mob carried him away and he hasn't been seen since.

I've been asking the same thing. The character itself has ties to the person, and the person has basically gone AWOL since the event due to people physically threatening him in person. So many people overreacted to the drama and attacked him that he had to go into hiding. He made a mistake in his life that would leave a scar... But people are acting like he killed a person.

Anyways... I think the character itself will remain in the game, but if they get complaints they may use the same character slot and change the character entirely if they need to. AKA, same stats, different look/name.

The guys had clearly a predatory behavior, taking advantage of his "famous youtuber" status to manipulate young fans...

The character should be retired from the game one way or another, that's just not acceptable.

I still haven't seen actual evidence of seeking out younger fans in a predatory manner. Just saying "he showed me nudes when I was 16" doesn't count as evidence, I could say that about another celeb, doesn't make it true. He's not actively being investigated by the police for this either due to lack of proper evidence.

There is at least 2 victims that testimoned of his behavior when they were underage, and it's very important that we listen to the victims in such cases as coming out is not easy.

Maybe the police is not doing its job (it wouldn't be the first time) as it's not easy to prove, but his collective had already started to question his behavior even before the scancal occured and ended their collaboration, which is not really sending a signal of innocence :

Unrelated to what the player has done (I never followed him or his group,so I'm not in a position to be informed about that), removing the character has its own problems for CNE, since I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a public promise from them somewhere not to take away characters/items that players had earned/purchased.

Good point, so the best solution is probably to replace the character with another one with the same skills but a different look and name (as the character appearance has obviously been modeled on the real person who behaviors is under question).

That way noone lose anything, and the problem character is exfiltred...

I guess this could be a special case since he actually looks quite like Jared but otherwise characters should not suffer because of their "humans". Most people probably don't even know who he is and might have not heard the story. It's also too early to do anything, you don't want to get into the same situation as Funimation and Vig Mignogna, releasing him before even getting solid proof of what he allegedly committed and now getting sued. Whatever will be the outcome in that case neither party will leave in a better situation. Let the police do its job when it's required and then react accordingly instead of pushing someone into the sharks hoping they were actually guilty. The whole Jared internet drama will probably make things more complicated to the police to find the real data and not rumors made by Internet trolls. It's ok to put anything related to him on hold but don't outright remove Diath from the game, he did nothing wrong and has an interesting history not related to the player.

The way I see, CNE (and Wizards) have several options:

1) Do nothing and let the character simply fade away with no new stories.
2) Kill off the character in dramatic or comedic fashion. In terms of Idle Champions, this could mean another character replacing the slot while maintaining similar ability and carrying over item levels.
3) Publicly condemn the character. This would only serve to highlight and immortalize the issue as well as Diath the character and raise awareness of alleged misdeeds. An infamous person is still famous.

There's probably some legal issues, too. Who owns the character? Does Jared own Diath? Does Wizards? How are contracts written for CNE's usage? There's tons that the public will never know that goes into making final decisions.

I think another big issue is the actual legal system - Jared hasn't been convicted of any crime. Will things change if he is? I don't know, again it may come down to what's in his contract as a celebrity persona.

My opinion is that Option 1) is the most likely course of action. And we as the public/players (and even CNE itself) will not know everything that's going on with Wizards/D&D and the situation. We're just along for the ride!

you say that like Diath wasn't already the worst in the slot and really the change to Streetwise to count multiple champions instead of only one single one to improve it puts him ahead there anyway.
