The only things that make progress in the game are items and divine favor.
The items are pretty rare and the divine favor is required in exponential amounts to progress in the game.
This means that even if you have 10,000 DF you will only make it 10 or 20 more levels beyond where you are now by having 100,000.
Just pretend you have nothing and push forward. You can replay any story quests and see the dialog again. Just pretend you left the game running on the highest map you have been to over night and you earned all that advancement in a short amount of time.
Just wondering?
Most important it shouldn't be forgotten, that this is a non-competative single-player game. Any game-resource is for many player-types inherently worthless and doesn't change the meditative character of the game.
Although game is the correct word. Toy would be a better term, as there is obviously no win or loose state present. So Idle Champions doesn't really qualify as game. But this is of course a rather academical difference.
This is the kind of post you come back to five years later and be incredibly embarrassed that you wrote something like this. It's okay, we've all been there.
It would be helpful if you tell me, why you consider my post embarassing.
However, we do not offer the option to erase your data and begin playing from the start of the game again, and it will not be something we offer.
Why?
That is a very fickle reason I must say. Missing on a great game and community.
You can look it up, or go on livestreams and ask. This community is more friendly than your young folk games like Call of Duty or Baldurs Gate :)
If you want to restart for some reason, you can also just create another account as it is free.
Personally I don't like answers like "create a new steam account". I have one and I am not gonna create a new one to play a random game.
Also, how hard can it be to delete a player's progress? The reason behind is irrelevant. I agree that restarting is pointless, but why stop somebody from doing pointless things?
How it was explained on stream was they didn't seem to want the player to have the power to restart due to how the servers were setup. And as the user profile on your system is only preferences, the game data itself is on the server.
But, the reason why I go "whats the point" is this game can easily be picked up, whether if you just played or you are coming back. It doesn't really matter where you are, in order to progress.
And if you have forgotten "the meta" (as Gaar says it as) then you can easily ask here, reddit, discord or twitch within the community.
There are more things to be worried about, like if the game doesn't work than why you can't restart. It's a journey this game, it isn't a "one and done" type of game then you restart to get a better run or roleplay something else. Like Baldurs gate probably is.
