Jarlaxle's Gold Find
Is it useful keeping him in the party just for it? Lately I've been exchanging him with Minsc as a support, specialized in the common monster of the level, to progress further and, as far as I can tell, the extra level progression gives me more gold than Jarlaxle's gold find %. Am I wrong? What's your experience with him?

Jaraxle is good for skill maxing so long as about 1/2ish of your party is one shotting - or straight to/through skill max if you have a naturally high gold find because it buffs additive with each level.

Not so good at the wall, pretty much anyone else subbing in would give you an improvement so long as they had any gear at all.

I actually find him to be more beneficial at your wall than anywhere else. If you're one-shotting, you don't need his extra gold, because levels will advance and give you more cash as you raise levels anyways.

With the wall theory, you put him in and let Nay tank. Build up her bonus a bit more, and it makes up for the DPS loss for having Jarl in your formation. You end up the same, you just reach an equilibrium point later with more mobs out. You still kill at the same rate, provided you aren't capping on mobs and they enrage. Even if you have to scale back 2 levels from your wall (wall -2), Jarl will still yield more gold than farming at your maximum wall. If you need to go back 3 levels, then it's not worth having him in your formation.

So yes, thank you Jarl for 61% more gold. But that's about all you're good for.

I'm just assuming that a person has no Stoki and comprable gear on Minsc.

That swap should get you give or take 10-15 extra levels on most stages which should get you equivalent gold gain and more gems. Between his all damage and beast buff its a pretty significant swing in his direction over Jarlaxle.

Personally I run him on Tombs until ~170 and enemies start to hit my formation, then I swap to Stoki and a single DD. By then I'm usually skill capped with all but Calliope.

Before I spent all my favor on Swords - I ran him well into over-levels before swapping to Stoki - but there's a massive difference in what you can do with 2B gold find and 300M that I left it at before moving onward.

Also it might be interesting to note that it doesn't seem like his gold buff is compounded before its applied. Each unlock seems to apply additive to the rest which makes them ever so slightly more effective than it would appear at face value.

It pretty much comes down to this: Without Stoki, can Jarlaxle keep the party at the wall? If you have to drop, Jarlaxle isn't worth it.

I dont know if I already have asked this and fogot it later :( Sry in that case, I just know, I asked about contracts ^^

Stokis gold bonus dont add to makos' dark luck. You just get the double of the normal gold find.

What about jarlaxles gold find, does it add to gold I get when makos kills an enemy? And how does makos work with gold potions?

Yes, they stack. Both Jarlaxle and gold potions add to your gold find in the corner. An enemy killed by Makos drops the standard amount of gold based on that number, plus a silver coin worth a percentage of that value determined by his ability.

It is definitely multiplicative. With all of his buffs, he adds 61% to your GF (1.10^5), not just 50%.

Oh, really. Did'nt notice that. Thought blue coins are just from stoki and not from makos. Was this recently patched in?

It's been that way for a while. I can't quite remember if Makos had it before we added Stoki, or if players requested he get that added once they had seen Stoki's coin, but around then for sure.
