Increase click damage worth it?
So im new to this genre and expected something total different. Its called clicker-games and most time I use my mouse is to stop bosses or level up the heroes. Not to make damage.

It is all about tactics and builts, nit very casual for me. I thought I could play this after work for 30 minutes mindless to relax, instead I let it run in the background while doing other stuff most of the time. Most times I slice through the stages till the next boss and do absolutely no damage to him, so I have to farm on the stage before the boss. That seems to be normal in this games.

Well, still its an nice little f2p game, althought compared to most of the ppl I read here Im still at the very beginning with levels, equip and gold.

Well, what I was about to ask. Im sure some veterans have already calculated if and to which level the manuel clicking-damage is usefull. Could you enlighten me please?

Only at early stages - when you are fresh and need your first DF.

Also after "Current Content End" - after 1.7e26 total money when you max your teammates skills, their damage have nearly no progress (in terms of E), but your click damage will continue scaling well. So maybe in future it will be possible to have reasonable click damage.

Monster health scales up faster than click damage does, so it's on Divine Favor that rests your ability to kill monsters with clicks.

My rule of thumb is to stop clicking once monsters (on non-boss stages) start taking more than two clicks to kill. That's usually the point where you're better off just having a full formation of champions that, depending on gear, can handle monsters just as quickly as clicks.

For instance, with my DF and gear, champions take over around area 80 for me. A new player will likely lose click efficiency very early on.

My first three campaigns (intro, intro extended, first event area) I upgraded the clicker right along and tried to keep it at least two levels beyond the boss level, but it was getting so expensive, I felt like I could never afford to upgrade my champions.

With my fourth campaign (harvest: farmer's kids) I tried a different tactic, pouring all my gold into my champions. Between the boosts they give to the party and themselves, as well as their click-able abilities, they do some splendid work on their own, even on bosses. It has worked brilliantly until level 55, where the ranger boss comes in. I have been stuck at 55 for an entire day, trying to level up my companions to do enough damage to take him out, but I'm finding it necessary to upgrade my clicker. Currently waiting to get enough gold to dump in so I can jump over this hurdle.

I think the clicker might be a better tool if there wasn't the problem of enemy overlap. I'm champions over clicker for the most part.

Here's a trick for killing ranged bosses: move your main dps out of the main dps slot in your formation (I generally swap him/her with Celeste, tends to do the trick), that way you won't be able to kill any of the 11 boss-level monsters as they pile up on Nayeli at the front. This maximizes the Aura of Protection buff, and when all 11 monsters (including boss) are attacking Nayeli, swap you dps back into the proper slot and use Hitch's ultimate, which attacks the farthest monster, which is the boss. Then it's a matter of trying other ultimates in hope of hitting the boss before the monsters die, e.g. Tyril's Sunbeam or Calliope's Impale.

For sure, though, once you start investing in champions and their damage buffs start stacking like crazy, it is definitely no longer worth it to spend even a penny on clicks. Clicks are good to speed things up at the start, and they always become completely inefficient at some point (see my rule of thumb in my previous comment). If you think otherwise, you're doing something wrong.

I personally have found that, no, it's not worth upgrading the clicker.

I did my very first game, and found myself easily outstripped by my hero's once I had 2 total and couple of levels on them.

In late game the clicker simply doesn't output enough damage to be useful.

The only time I use my clicker is for the very first stage if Bruenor needs a little help to get Celeste out. Once Celeste is out It turns entirely into an idle game and the only clicking I do is level ups and crows/goblins/etc.

Late game I'll use a fire breath potion in order to assist during bosses if I'm having trouble breaking to the end of a campaign but that is the only time I'll ever actively attack monsters.

not really unless you use a potion

This is 100% how I do it. This game runs on my laptop nearly 24/7 and it's idle about 75-80% of the time.

I come back after a few hours and upgrade those who buff the team or the 2 main dmg dealers i have aside from bruenor and i almost always just upgrade human bonuses and rely on hitch or jaemila for dps along with tyril at front for moonbeam and makos at back for buffs.

There's only two times to use Click Damage:

1) When you want to progress the absolute quickest and your heroes don't matter (ie - when you do gem runs)

2) When you have so much favor, that spending gold for damage yields higher DPS than your heroes can attain due to level caps

When you are doing a challenge where you have to complete it in under X amount of time, clicking will speed up spawning and killing where it wouldn't be possible otherwise, fits in with case #1 but for those who may not have made the connection.

The damage scaling on bosses is a foolish cop-out all the "Defensive/Heal skills" are almost pointless with this little quirk, Tanking is a thing, its been a thing for a long time now, if you where playing any RPG the tank keeps the party alive, having Insane massive damage scaling on any boss is lazy, if it was some bosses like the guy said before a fury meter or a spell on a specific boss cool.

For those who just accept and argue for its defense is just taking it at face value and saying it is what it is and saying they are right to do it... that is fine but dont defend it, why you ask? because an attitude like that gets us game lines like Call of Duty/Battle Front 2 and the like.

Also PS I will probably never read this thread again gl/hf ;)
