Breaking Final Boss Special Attack

When I try to break the final boss’s ball attack I always fail. I’ve tried with assault rifle, sniper, and grapple on the head and chest. I can break it after the cutscene shot but when it fires it the first time I can never do it. Can someone please help me and tell me what I am doing wrong and/or can do better? Please.

If you do not have the Arfa-Sys Charm, you cannot get true ending and will always have the cutscene where it shoots attack.

If you have the Arfa-Sys Charm, then perhaps you need a better weapon or make use of buffs/debuffs. You need to do enough damage to mouth when it does the attack, or kill it (either works).

Been long time since i bothered fighting in singleplayer, but any rank 8+ weapon should be overpowered enough to kill it even on Extreme if aiming at weakspots. If you beat game before, near end, and set on Extreme, there is a guy next to shady material shop that sells chipless rank 11s.

If you go to white frontier, you can farm sound deadener 2 from artict artillery on extreme, which is a full auto sniper, but any weapon of high enough rank should simply be enough. Keep in mind the weapons i state are OP for it.

Try having you or arfa hit self with Power Field shot and Nanotech Boost, while you use either armor break shot or viral shot to weaken enemy's defense (so you can do more damage). Aim at orb on chest during most of fight, if its doing attack, aim at open mouth and do dmg quickly until it saumersalts out of it. Alternately, if you can kill it before it fires, that works too
