Did Kirito grow out his hair for this game?

I see him on the front page and I am slightly confused...

Did you watch the 2nd season of the anime? The long hair skin is just the corresponding skin of his skin versions in SAO and ALO, from where he transfered his account to GGO.

I was actually more confused, when i saw him ingame with his short hair, as he actually never changed his skin in any game.

It tells you right in the story in the Kirito mode as well but like mentioned it's from season 2.

i find it funny this even be a question when i dont think in the series the game worlds even have mechanics for growing hair out over time >.> .....

It's because the games canon are different from the manga/Anime/Light novel versions. While everything prior to floor 74 DID happen, the story line changed with Hollow Fragment which found the players of Sword Art Online, still stuck on Aincrad. as a result, Kirito never got his original ALO Skin. likewise the Death Gun incident that happens doesn't pull Kirito from ALO to GGO, as he's already playing GGO, someone else had to set up his 'kiriko' skin.

Yeah, i knew that already, but it just surprised me as his girly skin is already in the game^^ I can just imagine, that they just did it to skip the explanaitions for it.
