Multiplayer?

ok so i been trying to find an answer to my question how will multiplayer co-op work. watch some videos from TGN Anime and it looked like boss battles will there be an Open World Co-op or anything like that? i really just want a game to grind with my friends. i played a ton of Destiny and Destiny 2. IK this game isnt an MMO but it has MMO elements can someone explain Multiplayer and how it works and if i can just grind out missions, quests, dungeons, etc.

from my experience i can tell you this:
-the story is not effected by multiplayer, so you can't do quest with friend.
-multiplayer is work with mission and dungeon for COOP, and PVE .PVP
-all item or level that you gain in multiplayer can be used while your playing story, and vice versa
if you want to grind with friend, then you surely can. (from my experience from SAO Lost Song)

is the multipleyer online or only offline? i have read that the mode where you use the heroes is only offline.

It sounds like this one is unlike Hollow Realization where you can just play through the open world map with friends and that the Co-Op is it's own missions.
