I really, REALLY hate this update. And the main reason behind this is that I can't complete this *&!%$#! dungeon the way I want. In all other games (including all other SAO games) I completed everything with my own build and tactics/strategy. In this mode... To win in one particular battle I need to use a skill I never used before. And to use it, I need pretty high INT that I didn't leveled up much, cause healing/buffing stuff was always my ArFA-sys's speciality and I leveled up her INT right to the skies. So just to be able to proceed I need to reassign all my stats and to play with a new build I never played before... Oh, okay.
- It's not fair in so many ways. Okay, I understand what developers thought when they did it this way (yeah, sure, just like in all other aspects of the game that are still the same after all these years after the release). But Fatal Bullet never was rougeike, and even in HCCOOP or in any DLC on extreme mode it still was... "playable" I guess and still entertaining for average players like me. But situation there is just ridiculous:
1. Enemy levels start to grow too fast and from some point you wiil fight 280-300LV mobs and bosses (I was like 180 when I realised that I need to level up myself to 300 level, because the other way I just can't play it at all). I was really hoping that enemy levels will raise +5 for each floor and if you manage to clear floors from the first attempt in the end you will fight 250LV enemies when you are like ~200LV (with completing all this missions for exp of course). But then level gap started to became too wide.
2. Drops are bad. And I am not talking about this new exclusive guns/swords, I am talking about Rank 11 weapons in general, not even Type Z. Damn, DotN is a paradise compared to this! I got only one Type Z pistol, that was Rank 11. That's all! All other drops Rank 10 or even Rank 9. And it's on the 47-48 floors. Okaaaaaaaay... So how am I supposed to fight 300LV enemies?
3. 500k credits to free your allies. On the last floors - and if you didn't spent all your credits - it's pretty reasonable price. But when my party was firstly wiped out (Oh, it's another story about balance: on 30+ floor I think, when My 100LV party firstly encountered 65LV and 85LV Shirley and Clarence we were just destroyed in a minute), I was having only 300k credits at all, so I was forced to play again with other party members just because I couldn't afford to release desired ones. Oh, and right now, on the floor 47+ I spent all my credits (50 millions) on Rank 11 wepons, cause without them - surprise! - you can't even kill 300LV mobs effectivly and spent too much bullets, so when you'll finally fight bosses you need to change to another weapons. I just don't get why they removed ammo-boxes in the dungeons from main game...
But the most ironic part that... well, if it supposed to be SO hard and you want to make your players suffer (oh, they achieved it, really), why game don't take everything back (exp, drops, whatever) when you die and didn't saved your equipment and levels by leaving the dungeon on checkpoint floor? Why using these half measures, lol?
And, the most dissapointing part, the ending. Real one, on floor 50 after the credits. I just watched it on YouTube and I am really glad I did this.
I won't spoil all the "fun", but... well, I was playing all this floors ONLY because of the story. I don't really care about new weapons or something. I had a hope in my heart, that all this suffering will be rewarded with something cool story-wise. That there will be some badass cutscene with a lot of links to Alicization Lycoris or some new information, that we didn't know/see before.
Long story short - it doesn't have anything like that. At all. And even if I stopped at floor 47 (well, I proceeded to 49 where I was wiped out by all those AIs), I spent ~30 hours in this dungeon. I was playing it everyday for 10 hours straight. And all of that was literally for nothing. Just for a cutscene without much sense or even visuals...
So, yeah, I am frustrated. And I am really glad, that this update was the last one.
Edit: mods = chips
Does a drop into the abyss one shot party members in the dungeon? I've had several completely random deaths where I couldn't figure out what happened.
On one occation, I somehow managed to lose a party member when I stopped at the exit teleporter to the next floor for a few minutes to manage stats, skills, and gear. Every enemy on that floor was already dead at that point.
Also, the skill Human Fortress makes knockback stunlock bosses like the Honeycomb Maker 10,000x easier.
The jump in enemy health around floor 45 is ludicrous. By that point, my defenses were high enough on my party that no enemy could do more than lightly scratch us, but it took me 15 minutes to clear some of the rooms because my weapons were woefully inadiquate for that floor.
I have no idea WTF I could be doing differently, as I'm completely reliant on the guns that drop and I was only being given a few tier 10 things and a bunch of tier 9's, but none of which were any good. It was super boring and I nearly ran out of bullets with every single weapon type. I had to resort to using Blaze and Poison to kill some enemies because I couldn't touch them.
I am not looking forward to finishing the last 4 floors.
Also there is animation glitch that just like online mode. They still have lag input in this update and it’s annoying since the dungeon is a solo content. Basically, if you’re hit on enemy like Kureha for instance. You might also get nothing on her while your skills on cooldown which she can just debuff you after that.
As the last boss, you might need to run around after getting into the floor because all enemies will target you first then after that is your allies. It’s the same mechanic for BoB but the handgun crit hard on you since they are 1500 dmg per shot without crit (weakspot only).
Another problem that the AIs don’t buff themselves if you don’t switch order to support only or focus on healing. For most part, the random death come from when you don’t see your allies around (it’s because they often stop or running somewhere and die =.=). This often happened when you try to walkthrough the dungeon without killing any mobs that danger to your teammates. The only time that NPCs are useful when you die or teleport to the boss room. The rest, they just come after you if they don’t busy fight enemies.
You can buy a white weapon rank 11 from the vendor (refresh shop also to get higher base stat increase). These will give you a boost to make it to 47 floor + and from there you have to grind for a type z weapons on those floors (which have terrible drop rates) or you prob won't have the dps to be able to finish.
First at floor 41-44, you need to find the treasure box that has rank 8 weapon or just kill the enemies for the drop. Those drones usually drop something useful or the big robots. For animals, try to use stat aliment skills beside your main dps. Rushing isn’t an option because that what they did there to stop ppl who don’t pay attention to enemies dmg. However, they do rush the floors so just do your best by getting the challenge quest and lv your def. Don’t duel wielding until you are lv275 and above.
Floor 44-47, mainly this floor is often for those who already played the first release (and I mean it’s bad...). You need high def allies with nano buff like Silica, Asuna, or a tank. ArFAsys is the choice for those who don’t like other party members. You can solo this one too, but that’s another story... Just beware of your aggro on enemies. Most of the run I use handgun and sword as I found on floor 39-41. There is a good sniper on this floor but at the end of this floor. Stat aliment also recommended.
If you lucky enough with low level but still pass the lv300. Then the final floor is where you need to do some heavy farming in order to clear it.
List of useful weapons:
Deathwind, Sirius, Procyon, Miasma Edge, Optical Gatling, Dojikiri, Fragrach, Gungnir, Long Stroke.
Additionally, type z weapon is only when you finish the floor 50, don’t waste time on each floor except if you look for accessories. You will need accessories with rare drop from treasure boxes from floor 47-50 in order to get better drop for both type z and regular weapons.
Incorrect I found a type z Valkyrie shotgun in a chest next to a hooligan on floor 47 and haven't finished floors yet.
Valkyrie type z is in the treasure box but why do you want to go all the way to get that weapon if your weapon is very poor choice against these high level enemies. It’s not easy to get them or guaranteed to get whatever in the rest of the dungeons from 47-49.
Also the only shotgun that good enough for the lv300 enemies is Royal guard Gold (since Royal Guard didn’t in the dungeon anyway). Other shotguns are just heavy and lack of both crit dmg and weakspot. Better use a rocket launcher than shotgun since they also have ammo shortage due to the ammo limit about 1960. Probably that won’t be enough to fire up to the floor 49 or after you beat a bunch of NPCs floor.
Btw, I’m not sure there is a combo chain in this game or not, but it seems like you can make the new weapons drop if you’re firing at them without interruption. Try to pressure the target continue on to make them down so you can a have better chance of drop the weapon. Add rare drop to increase rarity. I tested on Kirito? and floor 50 boss, it seems somewhat easier to obtain the weapon but not rarity itself.
RNG make you feel that way sometimes.
The Type-Z Valkyrie can kill most of lvl 300 fairly quick. Getting through that Lost Gate dungeon once to get a guaranteed Type-Z doens't seem like a bad option, just need to do some more previous dungeons to get loot and sell them to buy that Grim Reaper or the world end to clear it.
