There are fans for most characters.
So Devs added as many characters as possible in one game regardless of the probability, resulting tons of twists to character settings etc. It's all fan service thing, even the appearance of game characters in anime. Because of how the sao games are continuous in terms of story and character settings are twisted by that, anime and game NEVER can be cannons, devs just didn't plan it that well even if u wanted them to be.
I am aware of all this... it's more for fun is all
As for Kureha and Zeliska playing pool together, that's... really got nothing to do with the MC. Zeliska is a solo player out in the field. She's perfectly sociable while inside Glocken.
And as for Itsuki, apparently all the DLCs take place prior to the vanilla game's ending.
