Never played Sword Art Online, which of the pc SAO games is the best that I should play?

I'm not even sure if I'm going to like SAO, but if I'm going to try it out, I might as well play the best one.

The best SAO game is probably Hollow Realization. The map comes in large but manageable chunks, the graphics are better than any of the SAO games before it, and the game has a HUGE amount of extra content in its 3 DLCs, which come with the ported version here on Steam. I logged more than 60 hours in the game before reaching the 1000-floor dungeon in the final DLC. All the SAO games are on sale right now, so you should check it out!

In terms of genre I like turnbased jrpg, wrpg, action jrpg, first/third person shooters, nier automata. But again I've also hated games in these genres cuz they sucked.

well SAO:HR you use fantasy weapons like swords, spears, and other SAO anime weapons... in FB you use guns... HR is kinda like nier but the combat is much less fluid and its basicaly looter rpg... FB is kinda like saints row 3 when it comes to weapon handling and effects

Honestly wouldnt really bother with any of the older games bcs graphic hurts... also basically only other two games that are on steam are accel world vs SAO and SAO hollow fragment which is basicaly alternative ending to the SAO game... kinda wish they would port original SAO but the graphics... ugh...

Maybe just release original SAO story as an dlc for SAO:HR would be great :D

this game want you to farm weapons over and over again to get a good one with decent modifiers, also require you grind for lvl in order to beat higher lvl areas/dungeons. Story are not that good. IF you like doing same things over and over again to get better things, anime characters with guns and don't care much about story then consider buying it because it's on sale

i prefer guns but this game is grindy
