am i missing something?
So I've played a few hours so far and as far as I can tell, there is one very small "world" map so far with 2 or 3 little dungeons. Does the world open up a lot soon? It seems extremely small right now.

Also, there is a level 1 mission to build an outfit, but I can't seem to find the cloth needed to build one. Any suggestions?

1) Keep playing, there are more areas out there.
2) Keep playing :)

There are 4 different areas (each one has 2-4 dungeons), one central hub (which also has its own dungeon, along with the shops, the pvp/quest hubs, your home, and kirito's room, plus a central lobby.)

It's not The Witcher 3, but there's a decent amount of areas to explore. The real flaw is the lack of variety in the enemies. That's what really makes the maps feel so small, because there's a lot of similar-looking enemy types in each area.

As for the outfit, which ingredient do you need? If it's a "cloth," they're dropped by the AI Enemy Players that spawn in some parts of the map. You can also set the difficulty to Extreme and buy it from the NPC shop located up the stairs to the left of SBC Glocken's starting point.

hmm, good to know! I'll make an effort to seek out player npcs to kill for the cloth.

It's funny, i JUST opened up the 2nd area I think. I guess I was expecting a bigger world, but that's fine. I'm enjoying the game so far at least.

The game is definately smaller than it's predesessor, Hollow Realization. atleast in terms of Areas. where as in Hollow Realization each region of the game was broken up my smaller areas, and there was quite a few of those areas, Fatal Bullet just seemed.....small comparatively.

Well the JRPG side or "Hollow" saga of the games (Infinity Moment, Hollow Fragment, Hollow Realization) has quite a bit more content than the "Hack n Slash" side of the games (Lost Song, Milennium Twilight, Fatal Bullet)
All of the "Hack n Slash" SAO games are shorter while developing a more active combat, meanwhile all "JRPG" SAO games are quite lenghty while having a more slow and complex system.

Some may enjoy the games with more content, other may enjoy the games with more active combat. Personally I enjoy both.

I'll admit, I actually like the smaller zones with more active gameplay. I'm really enjoying shooting things and having a variety of challenges in each zone compared to SAO:HR. It was really boring walking for long distances between anything interesting.

There's also more to this game that I was giving it credit for (trading it combat medals, gadgets, upgrading etc) so I'm liking this a lot more than I did SAO:HR. The lack of the weird pervy 'flirt with everyone to make them get bonuses' is great too. (at least i don't think that's in the game lol).
