how to start NG+? after you cleared the storymode

When it asks you to go back in time say no and it will kick you back to the title screen, so when you load up your save again it goes to NG+ instead of back to right before the last dungeon.

Just complete the game. There will be a prompt, but for the sake of avoiding spoilers for other people, select no and you will return to the title screen.

Keep in mind once you do that, you can no longer continue playing with that character and you must start back at the beginning including recreating your character.

On the plus side, you can finally adjust your difficulty to either EXTREME or EASY, and you keep all your items, level, skill points, and all the items at the medals exchange store is reset so you can get 3000 more skill points. Though you do lose the ability to go gun/sword and akimbo and you need to replay to those points to get them back.

I want to add what I think is the deciding factor that keeps people from going into NG+: Your affection levels will be reset too, many people do all that in their first playthrough for scenes and stuff.
And I hear Weapon arts reset, though money should not be an issue.

Yeah, I am going to do all that affection stuff in NG+ on extreme mode when going for the true end. For the first 2 normal ends, I am not going to even bother doing kirito mode, as its not needed for the normal end. I'm just going to skip it till I do my extreme ng+ true end run. Its a waste of time to do it when going for normal ends. I just hope I can equip kirito with a gunduring kirito mode, because I can't stand melee in this game. Unless.. does death guns invisi cloak carry over into ng+ at the start? or do you also lose that liek dual weild etc? If it DOES carry over then it is probally worth doing it.

Sadly no. Whenever you want to do a newgame+, you have to clear it each time. But if asking to avoid doing more without doing more NG+, switch story modes (Mask of Abyss, or the 4 DLC ones) and you can avoid the constant story loop.

Assuming you do not know how to switch story modes, you must have reached the forest area on current playthrough, At title screen: START GAME > YOUR SAVE > Whatever Story mode you want to switch to
