Moonlight's a smg with little stat requirement but with the powerfull melee weapon art (nice for healer since they usally quickly get the agro). It's more of a buffer/healer weapon.
BR is an AR. It has a heavy dexterity requirement, so it's not fitted for a buffer/healer, rather for a attacker/tank. Also It has a ranged weapon art.
More simply I usually use the moonlight as a side weapon while I rather use the Blue rose as a main weapon. Only exception being when wielding sword, I go with a blue rose and in this case I don thave a main and a secondary weapon, but rather a melee and a ranged weapon...
Another thing that can be taken into consideration is if you optimize your chips, you can only put 1 single damage Vs chip per gun.
So it could be a good idea to carry a moonlight with one of those chip as first weapon and a blue rose with another chip as secondary weapon and switch between them depending on the target you need to take down....
Myself I keep 2 of each of them: 1 with damage Vs human (mostly for BoB), 1 with damage Vs mechas (for everything else).
Drop the movement chip on accessories, there's way more important things to have. For me the optimal set-up is: 2 x CD reduction, 2 x max HP, then STR/VIT/DEX/AGI +30 each.
Have tried numerous accessory set-up and it's the most beneficial and most versatil I've come up with.
- 2 x CD reduction mean all your skills and gadgets CD are halved, effectively doubling their usefullness and making some of them straight spammable (level 4 sword skills).
- 2 x max HP mean not only you end up with + 60% HP (16 to 20K in total), but also all skills, gadgets and chips depending on a percentage of your max HP see their effect increased by the same amount.
So CD reduction x 2 + max HP x 2 makes your first aid kit a very efficient self heal for example.
- STR/DEX, allow to reach the maximum without investing too much CP into these stats (you only need 225), so you're able to equip any weapon while still having enough point to keep other stat to an acceptable level.
Trying to get your DEX to 315 by equipping 2 x DEX+30 might sound like a good idea at first, but the difference isnt really worth the sacrifice in other stats.
Compared to 255 you get around 20% damage increase but at the cost of a lot of CPs that would be way more beneficial spent in the other stats.
On a very strong weapon like the grim reaper, explosive shot 4 on the weak spot of the MT-02 with a medal gauge at 100% and with all level 4 buffs does 5.5KK, at 315 it's 6.66KK...so barely worth it, and now you must consider that most other guns dont have such a high damage per shot, so the difference is even less significant.
Being slow and squishy is way more detrimental to your DPS...
- VIT/AGI, more HP (synergize with the 2 x max HP) and more defense, only good things.
