It's the game like a mmo or its possible to play it alone?

this game is not a Multiplayer MMO, it is a single player Japanese Role Playing Game with an online mode with 2 game modes.

This game is Solely a single player game and can be played offline by yourself for all of story mode, and all the grind, and all of Kirito mode, and everything, if you then choose to play online with some friends you can make a lobby and play online.

From the sound of things, there's a separate mode where you can play as Kirito or other SAO characters from the original franchise. These are essentialy "bonus" missions that take place at the same time as the main story you go through with your own Custom Character



as for OP's question, this may be similar to games like Toukiden or God Eater or maybe like Dimps' own Dragon Ball Xenoverse where you can play the entire game solo offline and then jump Online to play the missions with friends afterwards

Kirito mode is an optional gameplay mode the developers introduced where you play as Kirito and go through the death gun story arc from the anime.

This is basically correct.

For anyone who doesn't know, the series is named 'Sword Art Online', it's a show about VRMMOs. This game isn't an MMO, but an action-rpg.

I think Bandai knows this kind of game is popular since they did it with Xenoverse and now we got Fatal Bullet giving you a Custom Protag for SAO and Shinobi Strikers which allows you to have your own Ninja in the world of Naruto (Which is also coming to PC IIRC).

I'm not complaining though. Just give us one with Bleach and I'll be happy if I can be a Soul Reaper alongside Rukia and the others.

It's an action-RPG, if you paid any attention to the information released, you'd know it's not an MMO.

You will know what the game is the day early access begins. Just by the pre-order event you don't know what you are getting and what you are not as of now until release.

And that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if you ACTUALLY looked into the game you will find there have been at least 5 Developer live streams on the Japanese Dengeki YouTube channel show casing gameplay, of the online multiplayer mode, the first 17 minutes of the single player campaign, and gameplay of the loot system, combat and more, and the producer himself even stated in an interview it is an ACTION RPG, not MMO.

So get your facts straight before you go around saying "You have no idea if it's a MMO, action RPG, etc..." when in fact we do cause the producer of the game has showed us in several live streams and told us.

Just cause you don't know japanese, and don't watch the streams, doesn't mean it's not true.

You'd know what the gameplay actually was if you bothered to do any research rather than coming here from a youtube video to be offended because you got told to be by people who didn't even do their own research.
