Aim assist is for players that play with a controller to help them guide their aim. Only controller players can use this feature because if a mouse and keyboard player can use it they can headshot someone across the map with ease.

aim assist snaps your aim to the enemy when you start to ads, it only works for controllers and even then, it only works in terrorist hunt.

its usually slightly different in games but as a console player who has played it primarily (up until last year when i got pc) it slows your ads speed when you aim at someone so when you're strafing past a target the sensetivity slows to make it easier to hit and slightly tracks the target.

It ONLY works in terrorist hunt, there is no unfair advantage to people using aim assist in matched games.
