As far as I remember, the same thing was said last week. I really want to play, but with every day of waiting, the desire to play weakens.

We have two more updates left to do to get the game in a great shape, then all of our resources are shifting to offline singleplayer.

We could add an online singleplayer for now if you like though.

The main reason for offline for some of us is the ability to customize the experience to our playstyle/liking and not experience disconnects. The online single player offered does not have rates editing for any aspect and still has the same disconnect potential as the multiplayer.

so singleplayer isn't available at all yet?

what are the plans for singleplayer later? will there be enough content or will it be as dead as the space engineers singleplayer?

The online single player was available when I bought the game, and appeared to have the same content as multiplayer. It worked fine, but I live in a rural area so the internet drop out really made it frustrating to play. I am really looking forward to offline single player, the main servers are really full making it hard to find a spot to make a claim.

You can host a local game using the MySQL setup. It'c technically "solo" as long as you don't invite anyone =)

And for anyone complaining about the MySQL requirement: Yes, it's a non-traditional requirement for a game but it is incredibly easy to get going. Don't set it to auto-start with your computer. Just start the service when you want to play the game.

We will actually be adding online singleplayer by tomorrow guys. Maybe even tonight. And it does bring some VERY useful features. You can ask other players playing online single-player questions, you can continue playing from any computer, your progress won`t get lost in some hardware mishap, and best of all we plan to have a Moderator present at most times on the online singleplayer chat to help answer questions.

And yeah offline solo won`t be far behind.

One of the reasons I purchased this game today was because of the fact that the Devs seem very committed to the player base. I read his/their response to a negative review, and I like that they not only read but responded to issues buyers had.
I do prefer solo play as I hate having my game experience ruined by random griefers who enjoy doing just that. I am patient and look forward seeing where this goes, thanks for your efforts.

On line solo is up, if you have decent internet (which I don't :( ) it should be very playable.
