How to leave the house? (demo)

I think I've done everything I can in the house and my next quest is to take a final look around Single Valley but I can't figure out to leave the house. I have an option to press F on the front wall opposite the stairs. I assume this is where the door should be but nothing happens when I press F. What should I do next?

The door is in the kitchen, left upper corner. Haven't you been in the backyard yet? You should have: one of the objectives requires you to go there before you're given the final objective.

I've been in the back yard. I even jumped the fences on both sides to explore both neighbor yards. At any rate I think I have enough information to move forward so thanks for the hint. I'm really enjoying the game so far and this will be a definite buy for me when it releases.

Sorry to hear this. He can travel into the house etc but if a random bug you may have to go back a save or two and try again. We will also investigate for an upcoming patch. Thanks - b

luckily this is at the start.
its odd as ive wiped my saves 4 times
1st run the dog just vanishes after poo game
2nd run dog stayed
3rd run dog vanished
4th dog vanished

so its pretty common on my runs to not ever be able to leave the house
id try as a coder to tag the dog as always sitting on the patio or lawn near his house until you look out your tree house window.

Have you ever got past the garden yet then? If not you could reach out to me on our Discord server and give me your save file. I can use it to problem solve and/or fix your save to contain the dog. There is a Bug Reports thread in the Community Feedback section https://discord.gg/pm3caUNz

I have gotten out of the yard.
I was just saying how I tested starting over clean 4 times half of those the dog locked the game so you cant exit the house as you cant get the trigger for saying bye to the dog.
same as another persons issue here.

directly after picking up the poo its 50/50 if the dog vanishes.
im well into mayhem now, its eek !

Ok very glad to hear you made it past that section. We have updated the dog's ai and blocked of him for exiting the level in current build. But we need to coordinate a patch release carefully because of the large amount of major changes we have made, such as updating the unity version and pathfinding. Hopefully we can push in the coming weeks.
