Can't capture the ink demon with the second valve in Chapter 2

Okay, THIS is really starting to get under my skin. I've tried for an HOUR to get that stupid demon to go under the crate trap in the Infirmary to get the valve it has, but it just won't go under it no matter HOW many times I've ran after it. So what in the bloody hell am I doing wrong!? (sorry for the yelling, but this is REALLY getting to me)

Press the switch on the left machine to raise the crate, then chase him until he's under the crate (should be two times). Next active the right switch.

Yea, just discovered that... he FINALLY decided to go under the trap... stupid little bowlerhat-wielding ink-man >:( Well, thanks for the tip on running after that little bugger till he gets under the crate.

Not sure if it helps for those having the issue but he went under it when I came from behind instead of front

Sorry to necro this, but I CANNOT get this a-hole to go under the crate. Doesn't matter how many times I run into him or which direction I do it. One of many bugs I have encountered and I am only in chapter 2. Huge bummer.

Just to update, I reloaded the game and it finally worked almost immediately.

If anyone is still having this issue like I just was, I raised the crate when the swarmer was not able to see it. They might, unfortunately, be smart..

Raising the crate is always the first thing that I do. Then I take a few steps forward to scare the searcher away, before stepping back to between the levers. Every time I do that, he always reappears under the crate, even though I raised it right in front of him.

If anyone's here from the Humble Bundle, I've noticed in several places there are a lot of spots where you have to hit your blocking perfectly, i.e. you have to walk to a certain spot to trigger an event like a plank falling or the bowler hat guy actually getting under the box. In this case I had to raise the box and leave the area entirely. I'm enjoying the game but man, it is soooo buggy.

(If it doesn't work the first few times, put the lift back in the regular down position you found it in, leave the area then come back.)
I raised the lift and have been doing this for 5 minutes back and forth and he was still well not go under it. After Reading the comments looks like he will do it eventually but it's pissing me off lol

This worked the first time I tried this. Thank you. I did this section one time and got him under in maybe 5 minutes, but couldn't do it for the life of me now when going for achievements.

Thank you so much, I was stuck on this and leaving the room and coming back in, then taking a few steps toward him worked. love you
