for ANALOG controls disable SteamInput, and map your steering and throttle in game!

The default Steam Input profile is terrible, as it maps digital button pressed to stick and throttle.
Disabled it! Map your controller in game as you like, and enjoy smooth control.
Only drawback is menu mapping depends on nitro, throttle etc. Or just use the unchanged keyboard

I can't get that to work, it does not recognise the 360 inputs required. Also tried in Big Picture with SteamInput enabled and disabled, still no way to get it right. Wasted as much time trying to configure it as I have playing it, either with having to hold up on the controller or using the kb

Wait, can throttle be analog as well? I have XInput controller with analog triggers and they don't work even when I disable Steam Input. Or you mean one should map it to other stick?

For me it has to be, so I'm holding up to go forward on the left stick. I also need to be on the actual throttle control, which is how I knew something was funky with this. Still not worked out how to use a decent controller config and it's crampy using keyboard so I've stopped playing.
