How to switch between manual and automatic transmission?

When swapping cars at the dealership, I somehow clicked "manual" on the new car (even though I was pretty sure I chose automatic) and now I am stick with a manual car and no money... Halfway through the game.

if i remember well, the setting is in general settings in main menu

You need to buy a new car to choose that. There's 1 correct choice really. Game is so hard with automatic.
