Expies
I had noticed that not everything is official on this game and there are several expies not only on parts but also on games, I wonder if I got them right:

Mortoni is Maxtor
DFL Is DFI
Shean Is Seagate
Socar Is Rocket League
Feudal Fantasy is Final Fantasy
Fortfight is (ewww) fortnite

Am I right?

Shean can't be Seagate because Seagate doesn't build PSUs or graphics cards. Also Maxtor (doesn't exist since nearly 15 years) hasn't build mainboards. DFL could be DFI but they don't build mainboards since long time.

I guess that Maxtor and DFI "new" motherboards are artistic licenses by the developers. I am not sure who is supposed to be Shean, I just guessed it based on the appearance of the HDD.

I'm going to prefeace my post by saying "I'm not saying you're wrong" but it just seems you don't know what happened to DFI. They still make motherboards and they still exist. They just don't make -CONSUMER- motherboards anymore. They now produce Industrial motherboards under the brand name of "ITOX". See the DFI website here:
EATX: https://us.dfi.com/product/subcategory/?category=26
ATX: https://us.dfi.com/product/subcategory/?category=28
MicroATX: https://us.dfi.com/product/subcategory/?category=24
Mini-ITX: https://us.dfi.com/product/subcategory/?category=19

Most of their motherboards go inside point-of-sale machines like kiosks and ATM's and such. Some of them go inside installations that run animated billboards. Some are for server load balancers / routers / firewalls. Stuff like that.

It still beats the point of having DFI new motherboards since this is PC building simulator and not ATM building simulator or IC building simulator. I am still thinking those are artistic mainboards, also both are the only mainboards that don't show a single thing in their loading screen, i had not seen anything like that even IRL, and i am talking about the time there was an Energy Star logo on all of them

Your post is kind of confusing, at least to me. Are you saying that you have personally worked with ITOX motherboards in real life and they don't have the EPA / Energy Star logo on start up?

Let me explain, in PC building Sim these Mortoni and DFL motherboards lack of any kind of logo at startup, and even Alaska mexican motherboards had one. That's why i think that those two were created exclusively for the game.
Also Mortoni's description fits what Maxtor used to be. I could build a home with faulty Maxtor's HDD as bricks and if i go hunting for more i guess i can build an entire settlement

I understand better what you are saying now. In reality what actually happened is the Mortoni and DFL motherboards were "hold overs" from way way way back in the early pre-alpha, pre-steam days of the game when it was a free playable demo on their website. These motherboard companies were created so the game could have "Something at all" to use in-game before they were able to procure licensing agreements with major companies. So they could use these motherboards and not infringe on any copyrights from anyone. Later after the game came to steam early access they had the agreements with companies and they could put actual company products in the game legally. They aren't trying to pretend to be any real life brand. It's just a generic placeholder that they left in the game from way back when.

Maybe this also applies to Shean's and that's why they have so much variation in models. Still the parts from both Mortoni and DFL look alike both Maxtor and DFI ones to just be a coincidence

I know that DFI makes boards for industrial purposes but we talk about consumer hardware here and you can't get DFI boards (except old ones which lay in the darkest corner of a warehouse) for your PC since long time.

And this is not a forum where designers of industrial PCs get their informations from...

Yep I know all that. Technically ITOX boards are DFI boards. DFI makes motherboards. They just market them under the ITOX name. They're still made by DFI. I just thought I'd let you know that they exist still. That's all. Now you know. Anyway.. I explained what these random named boards are in-game up above, see my post there. DFL motherboards in PCBS have nothing to do with DFI boards in real life. They might just happen to look like them visually but even that is just coincidence and nothing more.

the same applies to Maxtor parts (yet you will never find a Maxtor motherboard because it was never released)
