Beat Saber

Beat Saber

On game start I'm placed in the floor
Update: Fixed it by disabling OVR Advanced Settings - see my reply below

Whenever I start Beat Saber, my head is placed at floor level. I need to press recenter at least once, sometimes several times, until the game places me at my correct height. Recentering often times places my head only at half my height.

Here's a screenshot:

I tried the following Beat Saber versions:
- 1.40.1 unmodified on Steam
- 1.40.0 unmodified on Steam
- 1.39.1 via BSManager with mods
- 1.39.1 via BSManager unmodified

I bought Beat Saber at the end of November 2024, it might've worked at the very start but at some point started doing this, I can't fully remember.

My setup:
- Sony PSVR2 with official PSVR2 PC Adapter
- AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
- 32GB RAM
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Windows 11 24H2
- Most current graphics and chipset drivers dated 2024-12-05

No other games I've tried have had this issue ever, which includes Nock, the Steam VR launcher environment, HL1 VR mod, HL2 VR mod.

I tried redoing my room setup (using the PSVR2 App on Steam), including floor height, with no change.

Does anyone have an idea what might cause this issue?

There were some left over files from previous modding attempts in my Steam installation, followed the steps here to completely remove the folder and reinstall but no change

More testing with no results:

I tried modifying my room config (Steam\config\playstation_vr2\chaperone_info.vrchap) by hand. I copied the "standing" config over to the "seating" config, thinking the game might accidentally put me in the seated position, which was set to [0,0,0] cordinates. But that ultimately also didn't change anything.

I tried resetting and changing the room X/Y/Z coordinates in Beat Saber settings, but when I set it to a certain height and press recenter again, it stills puts me in the floor.

I believe I figured it out - I had to disable OVR Advanced Settings, then restart SteamVR. That completely fixed the positioning issue in the 1.40.3 current Steam and my 1.39.1 modded version.

There is something that OVRAS does that messes up the positioning, but I haven't figured out what exactly it could be. I tried deleting the app settings before reinstalling as well, no difference there.

For completeness sake, I have the fpsvr overlay too, which works fine and doesn't cause any trouble.
