Multiplayer doesn't actually work

Every time I try to play the multiplayer, it gives me the error code CFR-9. I've reinstalled the game, verified integrity of game files, deleted all custom maps, tried with 4 different headsets and none of it works. I can't believe an update this broken actually made it to release.

EDIT: apparently people are also getting MUR-1, CFR-1, CFR-5, CFR-9, etc. i believe these are all the same error but relate the type of headset you have
i think CFR-9 is the Valve Index

EDIT 2: from my testing, this appears to be linked to ISP restrictions, firewall restrictions, etc. | using a vpn seems to overcome this issue for me, your mileage may vary though. i specifically used tunnelbear, but I also tested Private Internet Access and it worked.

It's certainly not broken for everyone. I played a few multiplayer games yesterday without any issues.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've checked firewall and I'm definitely connected to the internet. I've never been able to get multiplayer same error code every time

Same exact issue here. I also went through every step you named off here and still getting the same error message. might error is (MUR-1) though. no internet connection. all i want is to play this ♥♥♥♥, but for days nothing and no answer. way to go beat saber. score on this update. (NOT!!!)

i tried verifying the files too, i thought it might have worked as it found 8 files. It didnt work. No amount of googling is coming up with anything. Sad times

im also having connection issues in boxvr. Other VR games are connecting no problem. I have gone back through my firewall and again nothing. Ive also uninstalled and reinstalled and again nothing. There is nothing on the web about this at all. I think we are the only ones

mine worked for about 3 hours a few days ago, stopped working the following day. it seems completely random at this point. my guess is that they released it full of bugs so they could get it out on time.

Click on Start.
Open Settings.
Open Network & Internet.
Go to Proxy.
Switch off Use a proxy server.
