The game won't start
I've just got beat saber and when I tried to launch it, it says up next and I waited a while and it just won't launch at all. I've restarted my pc and updated everything and the game still won't launch.

Same here, how do I get a refund until this is fixed? I get the "Choose Language" screen but noting happens when I click on anything.
I can and have been playing The Forest with Steam Link so it's a problem with Beat Saber only atm!

Fixed it with advice from another player. Go to Steam, open Beat Saber, click settings icon, properties, beta tab, select legacy version.

Thank you for the suggestion, worked here too. Program freezes at startup otherwise.

Index running latest Steam VR here. Non-legacy Beat Saber versions ... i.e. 1.3x were working fine for me until this week. Now, any of them (I tried downloading a few) give me this in the console:

I've rolled back to 1.29 legacy, it works, but some custom songs won't load again. Ugh.

I hadn't played the game since March 2024, tried it today (November 2024). Black screen. Nothing.
THIS TIP WORKED!!! It gave me 3 legacy options, I chose the top one, named 1.34.2_legacy - 1.34.2_legacy.
Thanks not played for ages and had black screen your tip worked chose the bottom option in legacy patches it worked many thanks

I can confirm that the 1.34.2 legacy works. I wonder why they release something like this without fixing it until now!

same here. rift s user. i see a little white beat saber text on black background. then i get an infinite black screen.
all three betas run without a problem, except i can'T play the metallica songs i paid for :dip:

hope the devs will fix that soon
did anyone bug report this?

Schön das man für den Schrott bezahlt hat (zum Glück nur meine Frau) und kein Entwickler sich mal meldet…
Black screen is still an issue, so they never fixed this i guess.
Switching to legacy mode worked,
