Controllers not working in game [Solution in description]

When I load the game, the controllers are not working at all even though it works fine in other games. I'm not even able to click agree on the license agreement.

SOLUTION: As a few people have tested, turning off "Pause VR when Headset is idle" in the Video section of the steam VR settings will resolve this issue. Thank you!

Hi I was hit by this issue too. Have two versions of HTC Vive Pro (Eye and non-Eye). In my case it is something related to the headset because my non-Eye version works perfectly and on Eye version I don't have vive controllers just from start of the game (they can appear in SteamVR after pressing system menu button) Pairing controllers between headsets also don't affect working headset. Tested on multiple PCs with the same results.

I noticed that it happens on some other games and some are working flawlessly. My another affected game is Elven Assassin

I have the same issue with my valve index kit. This just happened today without a reason, it just happened while I was away resting a bit with the game running and the full kit connected. Then when I came back it wasn't working anymore. :/

I can confirm that it is working with the beta 1.29 version, but I can't play the new songs from Queen.

For me, the issue was two-fold. I couldn't accept EULA because it wouldn't display in VR, only on my desktop and I couldn't click anything. For that, I had to go into the SteamVR developer settings (have to enable advanced settings at the bottom for it to show).

Then there is an option to 'Set SteamVR as OpenXR runtime" if yours is set to anything other than SteamVR. Mine was set to Oculus (because I have Revive installed.)

For the controllers itself, I just had to re-pair them. From SteamVR, there's a selection to pair controllers (they have to be off). Press and hold B and the power button at the same time until the light blinks blue. Then tell it you want to pair another controller and repeat. This solved all the issues for me. Good luck!

When I uninstall & reinstall the game, it works well for me until sooner or later the controllers dissapear again from the game. But I can go half an hour or so ok :_ I still don't know what triggers the bug. Hope they fix this soon!!!

I use use Valve Index. Over the past 2 months it's been failing intermittently for me. When it fails, there's nothing I can do that will get it working, even if I restart my PC. It also seems to fail especially when I have friends over who wants to try the game -_-

Still an issue. i have the lastest version of the game, SteamVR IS using OpenXR and everything works in every game i own EXCEPT BeatSaber. I have a vive and until 1.29 it was fine... have not been able to resolve this issue in months. help

The triggers don't work for the valve index to pick any song with the new update, is anyone having this same issue.

I downgraded to 1.29.1 and it works again

This was also my fix. I've literally been struggling with this since June. Gave up 100 times, retried 100 times. And this simple click was the solution. Thank you!

I have same issue with Bionik controller, seems to happen when I get close to screeen's edge, as if I go out of bounds from the frame the controller driver expects.

Then I have to use keyboard to exit game and relaunch.

Funny thing, the home button still works to open steam overlay, but all other buttons are non responsive

Happened to me yesterday as well. I played it last week on the new update with no issue, but yesterday the controllers disappear when I get to the "accept risk to continue screen"
