Although you still have a valid point that the testing on their side is quite lacking before pushing updates so they needed to release a hotfix after update a second time in half a year.
Don't be ridiculous.
Read hundreds of comments, suddenly everyone broke windows.
And it's certainly not the fault of bet saber developers.
Run everything with admin rights, sure, it's a great idea.
And then the children cry that they stole their accounts.
It's a great idea to run such a defective product with administrator rights. Didn't they have a massive data leak this month? (facebaak)
edit:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/26/facebook-buys-beat-saber-vr-game-maker-beat-games.html
I haven't done anything like this in 20 years.
When I have to, I have a picture of the disk, from half a year ago, and the computer will behave as I would have turned it off six months ago and today turned on.
I admit I made this mistake and bought goggles without drivers for Linux.
Sir. let's run games with admin rights. Who knows the operating systems well.
Do you know about this huge leak of personal data from the facebok, which I wrote about to you?
Or maybe you continue to pretend that it was not?
If you are afraid of something just enable 2FA on Steam then..
The whole logic behind my post is that if game runs with admin rights but doesn't without then you need to check folder access permissions for several folders for game and steam and that's it, and why is that a bad advice is beyond me. I think it's still better than stupid windows reinstall...
Every now and then you can see the security breaches associated with faceebok. And you suggest running the application they own with administrator rights.
Two-step verification, ...well, for me security and threats does not end on steam.
And this verification is a joke. Although this is some advantage for most people.
On the last point, I can't agree with you because you don't know what the game will do when you give it admin access rights.
Checksums for files on a windos partition change tens of thousands each time you start your computer, this cannot be monitored privately.
And so I have to agree with you, it's a much better idea than reinstalling the system.
In fact, we don't just agree on one issue.
I believe that the manufacturer, especially so large, should release the finished, tested (especially so expensive) product.
You say it's not their fault, when a forced update causes problems for hundreds of people.
It's not a garage company, nor is it a beta tester branch.
The thing is somehow Unity based games are especially vulnerable to fail to start because of wrong user account configuration and windows updates, it happened before with other games too. You can say there is devs fault in choosing the faulty engine to begin with, but we all need to understand that noone expected Beat Saber to be big, thus engine choice was just go for small and cheapest available.
I downloaded a cracked version 1.15 from the internet and it works perfectly. The performance is perfect and it has no sound problems.
You know what to do, you're welcome.
PD; I just returned the new DLC and uninstalled the game. I will continue with the cracked version and install mods to download songs.
I don't blame the developers.
The owner is to blame, it's no problem to hire 10 or there 100 additional developers, for such a large company as facebok to improve the most popular, probably the most profitable vr game.
For me, 100% of the blame lies with facbook. I understand the pressures on savings in such a corporation. Need to find the manager who caused it, and throw him out of work.
"c:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache"
The game loads immediately, and it seems that all other problems have disappeared.
(I haven't tested tracking at the toughest levels yet, I think it will be good)
And yeah I think pretty much everyone hates Facebook and other big corps, but the reality is that these companies became big because they are managed really well and know how to count money... if you calculate the profits from Beat Saber it's just peanuts for FB, and it's actually great that they didn't ruin the game with some kind of social network integration yet..
Reinstall Windows and download the 1.15 cracked version.
I'm not saying it's enough forever. For now it works fine, I also do not see any negative effects of deleting the folder (I have copies).
You can also always delete it a second time.
As for the facbook I will agree with you only for "yet".
I also believe that the company is not well managed.
Its strength is to support the huge capital. And immoral practices in many directions, and on a huge scale.
The thief also earns well, until caught.
Please let's finish the topic, any opinions on various topics. The problem has been temporarily resolved, this is not the place for such discussions.
