Custom songs do not have blocks to hit

I believe this started after the last major software update. I can play all my custom songs, however, there are no blocks to hit. The music plays, even the background lights change to the music, but there are no blocks.

I have uninstalled the game, and deleted the entire Beat Saber folder, then reinstalled, and re-added the "Custom Data" folder ---No Change

SOLO and PARTY mode is effected. but Campaign is the only way to play, but that's only with the base songs.


Anyone else seeing this?

Oops, nevermind, I figured out the issue. I deleted the following folder : "C:\Users\<usename> \AppData\LocalLow\Hyperbolic Magnetism" and then re-ran the game. It is working normally now.

Wow, the creation date for that AppData folder goes back to the early-days of this game. Go BeatSaber_Devs!!!

Well to be honest it's easier to find the app which don't create anything there than the app that doesn't.

Probably you had some modifier turned on and didn't notice or it was not showing, and deleting that folder reset the settings for you. Next time you need to kill only settings.cfg, otherwise all your scores and progress on official songs will be gone too.. if you care of course.

Thank you for the tip, A.R. You are correct, all the song high-scores and single mode progress was reset by my action. That's okay, it gives us something to work on again. I will definitely use your fix, if this happens again.

Also, you may be right about this being caused by a mod, or at least remnants of an old mod from back in the early days of the game. I do not use mods anymore (except custom levels), since the game is well polished, but I cannot rule it out, especially knowing how old the AppData folder creation date was.

I meant not mods but in-game modifiers. There is a Zen mode which turns off everything except the lights, probably it was activated for you. Sometimes modifiers get stuck, like game shows that it's off but in fact it remains on. Turning such modifier on/off again normally solves the issue.
