And I wanted to finish a level yesterday and I couldn't.
Please, fix it!!
I just got a super rare urge to start editing and I setup my ogg's and bitmaps already to then get this. Why. Please. Why. Without mods, with mods, re-installs. Why.
It's not a great fix but it works for now.
I can confirm that this fix worked for me. Though it seems really odd that this would fix it since you're just juggling which window is active.
It seems like clicking the steamVR button in the dock is crashing SteamVR Home, so when you exit out of the game it doesn't take you back to your home environment, but I hardly use that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Could I ask what Icon? The [VR] button between your Steam profile dropdown and the Big Picture Mode Icon? Apologies, I didn't understand from what you wrote. That button only exits VR and Beat Saber for me completely. Thanks!
EDIT: Nvm. You meant in the bottom-right extra apps tray the SteamVR Status icon. I double-clicked it and it didnt go away and nor did the SteamVR popup with the device status. I went back into the editor and it's showing lines properly. Thank you so much for this. Mediocre Assistant has been bugging out hard on me, so I needed this.
Not the button in the Steam app, the ones on the dock on the bottom of your screen with the start menu. You should have the SteamVR status one. Here's a picture of it. [imgur.com]
1) It's all black, except the track waves at the left.
2) No grid is showing for the beat (and also no numbers).
3) No blocks (eg. red or blue arrows) showing when I click on the map.
4) I wanted to use "save as" and it seems to crash, I can only read "working", nothing happens.
This is what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/2694YgG
This works for me, too! But it is not saving, as I said on point 4)
I found that clicking the VR icon, found in the bottom-right Hidden Icons Tray with the up-facing arrow, didnt require me clicking the SteamVR app on the Desktop Bar you mentioned in screenshot. By clicking the hidden tray SteamVR Status icon it lead to SteamVR not having to close or bug out. Then I could just go back into the level editor and the grids and blocks all showed properly again.
