Lag causing unplayable game
To start out with i have been playing this game for months back when it came out. During that time i started out with high settings and it all worked smoothly. As time passed with each update lag started happening. It lead me to lower the settings and delete the mods except for custom songs. This didn't all happen over a instant it start 2 months after playing beat saber then things slowly got worse. I've looked up many things to try and stop the lag. I even tried oculus homeless and other stuff like cleaning my pc or uninstalling games. This still didn't work leaving me clueless still. The only time i can get the game to run smoothly is on luck or if i reinstall the game then download all my songs and custom mods again(mods being the ones for custom songs).

At this point im desperate to find a way to stop the lag at least even a little without deleting mods. I could play this game without mods but at that point im going no where. I'd be tired of the same maps and tired of how easy it is. This lag mainly effects the community maps that have very fast bpm. Some of these maps require some much from you to beat them that you cant have lag or else you've just lost track of the beat. I know i can beat some of these maps as i consider my self a very good player so its not me. This lag is basically holding me back in a lot of ways, competitively, my enjoyment, and fun. Playing a map even if its a nice slow one isn't satisfying. Random lag will hit out of no where even in the slow maps.

Basically i'm looking for any small amount of help i can get to prevent the lag. The main thing i have done is used oculus homeless to prevent some lag. I'll also say my cpu is at 60 - 100% when playing beat saber FYI. My pc is labeled to be "vr ready" for oculus so idk why it would be my pc. Here below i will list the specs of my pc.

Specs:

RAM: 8.00GB

Proccessor: Intel Core i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz

Graphics Card: GTX 980 Ti

I'm not sure if anything else is need for hardware to know but this is what i have. I doubt its my pc because beat saber has been the only one lagging overtime as its grown. Like i said i'm looking for any help on this.

Well I have an i7 with a rtx 2060 and ever since this new gui and multiplayer update came out I have been lagging out of control.

Which headset are you using? If you are on Quest setting oculus process priority and reducing bitrate may help you to move the load away from CPU. If I would be you, I'd do a clean install of BS (also cleaning appdata folder, with backup of game progress), set low latency mode in GPU control panel, set BS and oculus processes on high priority, run oculus debug tool with performance hud overlay and play the game to see what exactly is going on. And no mods at the beginning for sure.

So here's my problem...Not sure if anyone else with the lag is experiencing the same issue but I've been struggling for months now trying to find a solution and I just haven't found one. I know it's not my PC. I get flawless FPS in the game up until the moment I start moving the Oculus controllers and suddenly I start getting massive lag. Anyone else have this issue and/or a possible fix? I can't figure out for the life of me why the controllers would be causing this (they aren't broken as I went to the length of buying an entirely new Oculus to try to resolve this).

This lag actually has gotten out of control. The playability of the game is pathetic now, all maps i've been playing have some sort of lag. This game seems to of taken a fall in mods somehow. I dont think im can truely play this game if its gameplay is always lagging. With no one telling me anything or helping i might just give up on this game. No one should spend weeks or months just to get some help. I use to like when beat saber was playable but now at this rate its just dying for me. Its sad cus i thought i had something in it too.

This is not normal, and it should never happen. No software just gets worse over time and starts to perform worse and worse, it's just not a thing that can happen. Maybe in a single session due to an issue like a memory leak, but never between reloads and full reinstallations of the game. This is definitely a hardware problem, it doesn't mean if it says that your PC is VR ready, this is just a guideline. Sounds like your CPU is overheating terribly or maybe it's straight up dying on you. Clean the PC properly, replace the thermal paste, see if it thermal throttles. If it does buy better cooling maybe that will help, close anything else you have running in the background. Do a clean install maybe you have too much junk, I don't know your setup, you should know best.

Also, that processor is really jjust barely enough for VR, if it's reaching 100% usage then you are walking on thin ice. It is 100% a hardware issue and the only thing you can do is either buy a better CPU, or try to get your PC into tip top shape any way you can, but even then it might not be enough. The game is constantly getting updated, the requirements might increase and there's nothing you can do about it.

Its not a hardware issue, I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1660 OC, I have literally the same issue.
