Controller powering off in game- Windows Mixed Reality
This is a problem I had with my Windows Mixed Reality controller and just powering off when playing. When I searched issues I didn't see many on controller so I thought I would post thisin case others have the same problem. The problem is not with the game but with the hardware. In my excitement playing the game I found that swinging to hard would put enough G-forces on the control to disconnect the battery just long enough for it to power off. After I first started playing the game it would happen. I tried another game, a shooter, and didn't notice it. If I just swing normally it doesn't happen. I may try putting some foam tape on the battery cover to help keep the batteries from moving.

Edit: This was with the right hand controller. Haven't noticed with left but I may not swing as hard with left hand.

Ah,that might be my issue as well. I shall try some elasic bands
Edit: Mine was the left hand controller. Elastic bands help, but it still disconnects occationally. Either that or my muscles are still pumped from using the mouse ;)

I suggest getting a better VR Headset. I know this doesn't relate to your question much, sorry. I used to have Windows MR and I had too many issues after a long time of owning it. I know it sounds rude, yet after my dog ate the cord for my MR headset and I bought an Oculus Rift, it was so much better playing VR.

Must be nice to be Mr, Money Bags or have parents to buy you stuff. I would also rather keep my WMR, that works just fine for me and fills my needs, than have Facebook VR.

I had the exact same problem and i fixed it by taking the controller apart it was really easy only 4 screws and use a flat head screwdriver in the crease to split the shell once you open it you will notice 4 metal tabs coming from the battery that gives power to the board and they will probs be bent completly flat from squeezing the controller if you bend them up a bit it will fix the problem it worked for me took about 30 min cause i had no idea what i was doing or what was wrong lol
Thanks. I'll have to check it out.

Thank you for the guide. It helped me fix my right HP windows mixed reality controller.
This indeed was a very common issue also on old Oculus controllers. Finally with Quest 2 Oculus designers managed to think a little and added springs from both sides of battery so this issue disappeared completely.

Still not as bad as expensive Index knuckles which just completely cuts off inertial sensors when you give it around 10g acceleration LOL.. so money is not a solution here, all headsets have their flaws right now.
