Index controller trigger button not working

The only game in which my triggres are not working is beat saber. So, i'm stuck at the health and safety warning screen. I try to edit the controller bindings or switch to a different community binding but the option is not available as the screen just goes grey and nothing loads. Eventually it just puts me back to the main menu of steam settings instead of going to the bindings section. Again, this is only happening with beat saber. I can edit any other binding for any other game.

I tried troubleshooting this on reddit and google and no answers worked. I tried going to the local low and magnetism folder and deleting it and nothing changed.

I've tried reinstalling the game twice now and nothing changes.

Can we get some help?

Edit - I have found a solution.


go to your steam folder. /steam/config/steamapps.vrmanifest

Find the code

Delete this. Save the file.

Your index controller triggers should now work.

Doesn't seem to work for 1.6.0. I only just started having this problem today with 1.6.0 and this didn't change a thing.

I had to do it up to three times for it to finally work. Some people are lucky
and it works the first time. Others like me had to do it a times. Of course....there is a chance it won't work even after the third time; but I figure I should let you know in case you stopped entirely after the first time.

Just encountered this issue after SteamVR updated to 1.9.13 today. Beat Saber 1.6.0 was working fine today before the SteamVR update, so I think it might be related. This method hasn't worked for me yet but I'm still trying.

Finally worked, took a good 20 attempts at least. Hope it stays fixed. Thanks for the helpful posts mate.

Found the problem in Beatsaber. It was DynamicOpenVR (if someone using BeatSaberCustomAvatars) it overwrite the keybindes from my knuckles.


My solution:

close steamvr
delete /steam/config/steamapps.vrmanifest
delete /steam/steamapps/common/Beat Saber/beatsaber.vrmanifest
restart steamvr

now my Beat Saber works just fine
