Thanks to Oh_DeeR for starting a proper thread for this :-)
None of my other games give me the issues beatsaber now does, ive also reinstalled everything, and just for additional information, i actually had to restore and wipe my whole pc to factory (thanks to latest windows update) so nothing is installed as of yet. but beatsaber still gives me the same issues, and again just to clarify it never gave me an issue on the previous version. even when the last version i had alot of mods installed and pushed particle overdrive to 20000% yes 20 thousand % and never had a problem. but now i dont even have a single mod installed and just playing the OST3 on easy reprojection occurs wayyyy tooo often. so its definitely something in beatsaber causing this problem. cause again no other game or software in steam/steamvr has or experiences these issues.
HTC VIVE
Intel 8700
Radeon VII
32gb ddr4 2666
all SSD storage
The GeForce Experience updated the drivers and I noticed that it has options to automatically "optimize" games. Mine was optimized with 8x anti-aliasing. That seemed a bit high, so I knocked it down to 2x and the rendering scale from 1.8 to 1. The game is working smoothly again.
This does nothing for those not using Nvidia cards and I wonder if I'm getting the optimal experience, but just the fact it's playable again is a big step.
Here are my specs for the record:
GeForce GTX 1070
Intel i5-4460
16 GB RAM
Valve Index
I play in expert mod, when i see a lot of blocks and 1/2 red walls, the game lag for a second.
Very annoying :/
Before 1.3 release i played without lags.
I tried to change settings but nothing change in-game
RTX 2060 Super
Intel i7-4790K
16 GB RAM
HTC Vive (basic)
GPU frame times went from 800+ while loading the splash screen disclaimer, main menu, and songs down to 200, for much less time.
Also, I was actually able to get 144Hz for the first time in Beat Saber after turning off GeForce Experience's 'optimizations'
RTX 2070
Intel i5-4690K
8 GB RAM
Valve Index
It's not the solution for this problem, though. I don't have Experience installed and those who have, didn't experience the lag before the BS update v1.3.0 as far as I understand.
I tried a few more things in the meantime myself, such as deleting BS's Appdata folder (CAREFUL!, this will delete your in-game save data and personalization!), which was recommended to me by users who had had similar problems after updates in the past.
I don't understand why, but it slightly improved performance. The micro-stutters, especially when loading in walls, is still present, though.
Apart from that, I recalibrated my whole room setup from scratch, which helped with some tracking issues, but obviously not with the game's performance. I ran out of ideas what else to try (and I shouldn't even have to come up with such make-shift solutions, if the game was running properly).
I would really like the devs to acknowledge this issue, at least.
heres a way on how to do that

, for now im happy with just using 1.2.0,
i should not have to downscale every setting for beat saber when i never have in the past, legit No Mans Sky Beyond i run on ultra with everything cranked and it runs like butter.
Beat Saber 1.2.0 now after redownloading it with heaps of mods reinstalled and particle overdrive and crazy moving maps doesnt show even the slightest hint of lag. but version 1.3.0 in the menu there is reprojection issues.
The actual game on steam should allow players/owners of the game to go down one version in the beta selection area if they want to, for reasons exactly like this one.
i love the beat saber devs and team but cmon, it seams every time a new feature comes out we go back to square 1 with performance.
atleast give us the option in beta to choose a lower game version, then people can have their mods and no one will care how broken or glitched the latest release is cause they will always have the previous version and not lose their stuff.
And having the game perform the way it is in 1.3 if i could not downgrade it i would just cease to play the game at all till a fix came out. Im sure alot of people feel that way.
Thanks anyway <3
i know you guys are trying your best
Also, I want to reiterate this and make it extra clear: this problem did NOT exist in v1.2.0, not even at max settings, so any suggestions of lowering the graphics settings do not address the actual issue.
Clearly, something changed with v1.3.0 which either massively increased the minimum requirements past an i5 8400 and a RTX 2060 (which is highly unlikely) or there's some missing optimization for certain systems or even introduced a memory leak (note that the issue gets worse and worse the longer you play).
If I can help you with any performance logs or debug data, I'll be happy to help. Just tell me what you need and how I can provide it.
Thank you for this suggestion. I guess this is the only viable option right now, until the team finds out what went wrong and pushes an update.
