Disable menu buttons while playing
This is perhaps my #1 issue while playing. Always, while going through a track on expert and at the worst moment possible, I'll accidentally hit the menu button, pausing the game and almost certainly killing my streak. It would LOVE to be able to disable that button, specifically the one below the track pad while in the middle of a song. I know some people want to pause, and that's fine, but I'd love the option to disable pausing entirely while on a run. It has no use to me other than accidentally ruining otherwise excellent runs.

AGREED!!! LOL I can't tell you how many times I screwed my flow up from accidently hitting menu button on one of the touch controllers. Or have it set to hold for 2 seconds when in game.

Perhaps rather than fully disabling the buttons, require both controllers to have a button press in order to activate the pause menu? This keeps the functionality but makes it a more deliberate thing than just an accidental trigger.

Agreed!! It's a significant problem since it regularly just screeches the gameplay to a halt in the middle of rhythm play - several times a song. Thank You.

I think this is a great idea.

This was patched weeks ago. From the update of May 11:
"When using Oculus Touch controllers in-game pause is triggered by press of a thumbstick (OpenVR SDK) or long press of a left controller's menu button (Oculus SDK)."

The oculus/steamvr buttons are the only ones left but are out of control of the game since they are part of the underlying system and completely bypass the game.

This was patched for Oculus users. Nothing has been done for Vive users. Which is what my post was about (though to be fair, I didn't specify that).

I've only actually pressed the steamvr button once or twice, it's the menu/power button on the Vive controller that is the major issue, at least for myelf and my roommate. Which is a configurable button, lots of VR games use it for different purposes. Though a long press probably wouldn't work, as that powers off the controller lol

Oh I'm sorry then. I've only played a few times with the vive since I don't have one myself. So I just assumed it uses the openvr sdk because I didn't think they would address this on all headsets except the vive. Weird.

But from the few times I played beat saber on the vive what helped me not to open the menu was pushing my thumbs on the touch pad since it doesn't do anything and it kept me from slipping on other buttons.

Also agreed. I hit the steam menu too often. It's good sign that a game is fun and intense but also breaks the flow when it happens.

Edit: changed it in developer settings! It works woo hoo!

How did you change it in developer settings?

Edit: I assume you mean disabling the SteamVR Dashboard, helpful, but not sure that would fix my issue, I tend to hit the other button lol >,<
