some people find getting back on beat to be tough.
my biggest issue with these was keeping count so i didn't accidentally go over the max combo count. remember, it's just the max combo count you can have, you don't have to hit it perfectly. taking that into account the easiest way to get through is by picking a safer number range to ruin your combo in and just breaking it when you count to that number of cuts rather than relying on the counter to tell you when.
The "max combo" objective is beyond asinine, but the fact that the developers of the game locked the rest of the campaign behind these missions instead of having them be dead-end extra missions is simply unbelievable, and I won't be paying for a single DLC pack because of it.
I doubt the developers read this, but if you do, just switch the campaign missions so these are optional. Intentionally punishing players for getting too into your game is a BIG no-no.
It is now 4 months later I have completed the whole campaign, playing expert+ songs and on 6 stars now (community song difficulty rating).
I just wanted to say that after getting so far and learning so much i revisited the campaign again, breezing through it and the “Max Combo Level” now seem JUST AS STUPID AS THEY WERE THE FIRST TIME AROUND.
It's amazing how people find the time to write big posts about absolutely terrible built-in campaign. Everything there is so wrong that's it's really beyond repair...
Just get over it, install the mods, choose the ones you are interested in with mod manager and start playing the full game and not an Early Access title we bought. It's extremely easy, please just do this, and you'll never come back to vanilla. Just think about it, hundreds of thousands people enjoying modded game while you complain about this terrible campaign!
If you want a nicely done campaign install custom campaigns mod, and it has Anniversary Campaign included with 3 different difficulties to choose from. It will be a great start for anyone... At least maps there have a flow.
I was an idiot and spent 40 hours in this game without trying mods, so for me it's painful to see people doing the same :)
