What is golden saber version and custom song manager ?

To those who easily get custom songs and they don't break for you - how do you do it ?
Except for never updating with update skipper, I still struggle getting stable beatmaps, I feel like my custom levels folder is a mess too.

I'm using BSmanager, it allows to have multiple versions of the game and install mods, maps or even models.
There's also an option to activate oneclick installs from websites.
So I'm playing on 1.39.1 with mods, and I also have the official latest version installed. I also made them share the DLC folder to have the extra songs active on both.
