If you've a good video card, you'll have a better graphic experience on Steam, but you'll be certainly wired to your headset.
To buy it directly on Quest 3 will allow you to play anywhere without your PC and without wires....
I have both versions, but I use the steam version only to capture MVR videos (because of the better graphics and LIV support).

my graphics card is just slightly below the recommended for beat saber (recommended is gtx 1060 and I have 1050 ti) so I'm not sure if it's considered good...
also can't you use airlink or something like that and then you won't have to use wires?

Yes, you can play with airlink, but this can add some latency and for these kind of games, the wires are still the better... So maybe you should better buy the Q3 version. It will be fun anyway!

oh, I forgot something: if you want to mod your BeatSaber, the PC version will be easier to. I don't mod. I play mostly on quest 2, where the graphics are lower than on quest 3, and I still like it!

Modding is way more convenient and better on PC, especially when you get into stuff like custom sabers/environments. Plus avoiding updates on PC is easy, on Quest it's basically impossible, so your mods WILL break.

I believe the biggest problem with the quest 3 is battery life, issue that is made less important by playing wired to your pc
though I don't own one myself so that is a fact you'll have to confirm by yourself/find someone to confirm

You will always be able to get it on Quest 3, but it could one day be removed from Steam because Meta might make it a Meta exclusive just like they did with all their other games.

3 to 8 hours ( with the better strap and battery) not enough time?

Not really.
Just a few glitches if you buy the oculus vr headset, like a bit of freezing and it would be back to normal.
It's a blast to play.

Little late but with a dedicated 5Ghz/WiFi6 router, you get the same if not better latency as wired.

Also you can only play the Quest version on Quest, and Steam is compatible with anything.

id say get the steam version. bc you can mod it super easy, and it has almost no lag for me (im on a cable, with a GTX 1060ti 6gb)

I'm a bit new to the whole vr thing, do I need the base stations and stuff? My PC has a 4080S and was planning on just plugging the headset to the PC.
