also, thanks for your help guys, im going to keep trying and hopefully i'll be able to play for longer after a while
I weight 234 pounds (50 pounds overweight) I play through the pain and the sweat. I stop after every song after the first couple to wipe the sweat and clean the goggles but the point is to keep it going.

As the late great, Zyzz once said, "We're all gonna make it".

won't putting a screen an inch away from your eyes for 2-3 hours cause eye damage?

That tends to be from eye *strain*, which is caused by focusing on a screen that's in front of you for long periods. VR mostly side-steps this by tricking your brain into looking "past" the screens and into the world those screens are projecting. There's still some eye strain, but it's not like sitting with your face 2 feet from a 60 inch for hours.

Pace yourself, I'm a big guy too I play 2-3 songs then take a 5 minutes break. Rinse repeat.

I'm thin, and my lenses still get fogged up. try adjusting your headset so when you wont get that problem when breathing.

Being a large guy myself I disagree with the OP and like others think he may have been trolling a bit, but yeah... keep it up and look for ways to make it more comfortable to keep playing:
turn on a fan
open a window
head band
etc.
Also, in case nobody else saw this floating around. https://www.vivenchill.com/
a set of little fans you attach and plug into the USB of the Vive if that is your HMD.
I use Vive N Chill and really appreciate it. However, you will still sweat so sweatband, AC, and stopping every once in awhile to wipe the HMD and your face. Note, when taking the HMD off after a sweaty session, hold it either parallel to the ground or with the face up so the sweat does not trickle into the HMD. While my wife prefers the spongy face cushions that comes with the Vive (which she rinses and hangs up to dry), I use an aftermarket leatherette one that wipes easy. Your mileage may vary. Since HTC does not warranty against sweat damage, watch your sweat and be sensible in maintaining the beast.

I wear glasses and those tend to fog first. But the simple lifehack works very well - just warm up the glasses or headset lenses using a hairdryer.

I'm a bigger guy and this advice is the worst. No offense to the OP.... but you NEED this game if you don't like exercise.

I experienced the first exercise high of my life and it was glorious. I never knew that was a thing. I felt amazing and I've been trying to reach that high again.

Get this game.... work your way up from easy... I'm on expert A rank on all songs. Now I need to perfect all songs and I move to expert plus.

I started on Normal.

This is how exercise is meant to be.

Echoing earlier comments with regards to keeping a fan on (preferably on high if you're doing expert/expert+) and aimed at your headset to get some air flow happening.

I would argue the opposite. If you're fat DO buy this game. You will get very good exercise.

And don't feel so bad.. I know plenty of people that are in good shape and also get tired after playing this for 5-10 minutes.

I just want to say that the first post is one of the best reviews I've ever seen on Steam.

Full disclosure: I'm fat and enjoy this game. But I'm also old, so I only enjoy it until my knee or shoulder starts hurting.

As someone who played this game for over 250 hours I know what you mean but these issues will slowly go in time. Even I still fog up just need to give it a wipe and carry on enjoying the game after a while it will stop.
Also the lens fogging up just make sure your room is well ventilate by having the fan on or window opened. Also your arms will get used to it I remembered when i couldn't play for over an hour but now I can easily do 3-4 hour streams without a hitch.
With you being fat thats no excuse not to play this game I started as 23 and a half stone (149 kilos) and in the 3 and a half months I'm now 20 stone and 4 pounds all thanks to Beat Saber.

As others have said keep at it and it will get easier.

Initially it's is a good way to get moving but at some point the most you will do is flail your wrists to keep pace with the notes.

I consider it a gateway game until you are ready for the real fitness vr apps available.

The game itself is fun though (for a time) I personally get bored easily of rhythm games but I love light Sabres so I still play.

I was 250 lbs 4 months ago.. I'm now 202 thanks to beat sabre, thrill of the fight, box vr, some free weights and eating properly. Which I guess isn't too bad for me being a half century.
