Why should I make my own? I want to play beat saber, not map tracks dude

No! By your logic, I should not only map it, but also compose it to be able to criticize
I guess custom maps are great for experimentation, but can't really compete with the official ones imo.
The reason you think they're all bad is because you are used to the official mapping style.
Mapping has since evolved since that era (that map is over two years old) and with it a new style. Tech is the vogue right now and that's what everyone is mapping (just look at my map, for gods sake https://beatsaver.com/maps/21b41). You just have to get used to the mapping style. If they're bad because they're too hard, search for easier or Full Spread maps instead. Trust me, if "all mapping was bad," people would've come up with a new style long ago, like exactly what happened with that one.
