Try turning off the sound completely, focus on your body movement rhythm when slicing the blocks, take it in and then start again with the music still focusing on your body movement. Also important to never follow the blocks with your eyes during normal play (exception is accuracy map), just focus on the distance where the blocks are spawning/turning (note jump distance). You can adjust this distance with NJSfixer mod, if you are hitting too early then it would be more natural for you to make this distance closer. Try setting it to 19-21 and adjust for different maps as they may deliver rhythm in very different ways.
unless like mine the game ♥♥♥♥♥ itself and crashes steam vr causing it to take a good hour to restart the computer multiple times just to actually play and then realise it keeps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself and disregarding 50% of misses even if the blocks are so close together its impossible to miss, game is like nah
