Is there a way to accelerate/unlock/change campaign difficulty?
As in the title, tried campaign yesterday. I knew that it will be really easy at the start, but they start you of at easy difficulty. I really don't want to waste time getting through the easy and boring stuff. So here's my question:

- Is there a way to unlock later levels and skip the boring easy stuff? Assuming there even are harder levels and that the campaign doesn't just end up at a mission where you have to clear a single expert track.

- Is there a way to change the difficulty to a higher one? I haven't figured out how to do it, if I could it would at least make the early missions more fun to play and wouldn't feel like I'm going through the motions for no reason.

I would assume that the campaign would have those features, after all it released well into the game's lifespan, a lot of players are already rocking expert/expert+ songs, and forcing them to go through easy levels is a really terrible feeling that makes me not want to even touch that feature. So, am I missing something, or do I really have to grind through the boring stuff? Or maybe the campaign has no actual payoff and challenge up to the end? I'd appreciate any help and advice, thanks.

Edit: If anybody also knows how long does it take to at least reach expert difficulty I'd appreciate you sharing. Exxpert is where I can at least jump around a bit and have some fun and excercise.

As far as I know, no there is not. I wished for some expert+ levels (I knew that the PSVR campain didn't have expert+ levels but I kinda wished they would have updated the campain for this update) but when I completed it I was greeted with an expert map for the final stage. I must admit I had a bit of fun on the "calculate your misses/bad cuts" and the "max movements" goals in the expert songs, it was a bit more challenging than easier songs, but I really wished to be able to do these at expert+ level, considering having to manage your misses/bad cuts at that level would be a real challenge.

Thanks Alternity, you always seem active on the forums and always provide useful feedback. It sucks to hear I have to get trough the easy part first, but it's interesting to hear there's some gimmicks for expert songs. Maybe I'll slowly made my way there if you feel it's worth it. Have a nice day and thanks again.

I wish there was. I have plans to make a list of my own challenges for each difficulty on a doc, so people who want campaign-like gameplay but don’t want to play the easy songs can refer to that and do the challenges. I’d also add some expert+ challenges, and custom song ones as well.

Self impsed challenges are one way, however it gives better motivation and drive if they are part of the game itself. Especially if they have some kind of payoff. I would love Beat Saber to have some kind of Weekly Challenge system where you get a bingo list of challenges for a week and they let you level up your profile to earn flair, or any different prestige system. A good way to give the game longevity and encourage players to work on getting better.

Actually, that exists in the form of the beat saber community discord. They have weekly events with 1 OST and 3 custom maps, and it caters to all users because based on your rank which is determined by scores on OSTs and a token system, you play each song on a specific difficulty. https://discord.gg/B45k7h

Oh cool, I was not aware the community is doing something like this, thanks for the heads up.
