Hey, so hearing that beat saber will be on psvr is great, tho i just have 1 simple question.

So, on the pc version you can download some plugins or smth to add custom songs to your game.. but how will that be possible on the ps4? .. cause cool okay we get 5 exclusives but i mean i will get old soon if you will just play them over and over again.. and when i first tried beat saber, i mainly played songs that were custom added.. (btw i didn't play it home, i don't have a good pc and a vr for pc i just have psvr and ps4 so..) but then when i heard that beat saber is coming out on psvr, i got this question... so all i'm saying is if there will be a way to add custom songs to beat saber on ps4? it will probably not be possible to do it via editing the game files.. cause taking the whole hdd and putting it in ur pc and adding those songs.. that won't probably work.. i would be cool if there was like a in game menu to add songs or download them.. or if the game was connected with steam or what ever.. just so we can download custom songs rather then just playing the pre-installed ones over and over again.

probably not, consoles never really give you that choice to do mods by changing the games files. if you want to play psvr with more than base songs than you might have to but the expansions mentioned in the reveal or wait for the level editor.

we dont really know yet how the level editor will work.

you can be sure though that it will not download any music, there is no legal way to do that.

there is not likely to be any modding on the PSVR version.

they will be selling song packs.

But beat saber does not endorse the downloading of custom songs. Also, the ability to mod is one of the reasons I prefer PC to most consoles.

If I was a betting man, I would say the "five exclusive songs" thing is a bit of a red herring, there will probably be another batch of new songs that will be shared between the PC and PS4 version when the PSVR version launches and we get an update.

on PC it is done by mods, it is individuals making those mods themselves, and no one is making any money.

even still, it is basically filesharing.

the devs connat in any way get involved with or endorse the downloading of copyrighted material.

on PS4 you do not have the same ability to mod the game yourself, and the devs cannot do anything to facilitate it, so there will never be custom song downloads on PSVR.



think of it like any other mods.

if bethesda were to put mickey mouse into their video games without permission, disney would sue them for millions and force it to be removed from the game, or shut down the game.

if however some guy creates a mod putting mickey mouse into a bethesda game, and no one is making any money off it, its just a player made mod, and it's ok.

I mean, it may be possible in the future that someone finds a way to play custom content on PS4 (Just like people are working on Rock Band 4 custom songs right now), but the problem with the PS4 method is that it usually requires an older firmware and stuff. So even if there was custom content for PS4, you would need to always be on the lookout for custom firmwares and stuff, and these will probably never match the current firmware version on PS4, Sony is trying hard to squash this scene so (I have a modded PS3 and they still update it just to prevent custom content).... good luck.

Yeah there is a way to do it on PC. But it’s technically illegal and not done through any official system.
