This is just insane
Just finished campaign. Looked at steam achievment - only 1% of all BS users completed campaign - are you guys crazy? Why make campaign so difficult? While I finished I still have two missions I couln't finish, cause they really are crazy enough to swear like drunken sailor. Never mind that sometimes my hands hurt like hell from all this exercize, my wife got stuck in the middle - why the hell you felt that this should be THAT difficult?

Also, parts of the campaign require you to intentionally miss/fail blocks regularly in order to pass the level. If you weren't concentrating on the block count and got into the rhythm of the song, then you fail and have to do it again.

Even if you like the stock songs (and I find them fine), the campaign is significantly less fun than simply playing solo mode.

I played it when it first came out to see what it was about. I started it after a long session of BS so I was in need of something slow. It's okay. It kind of introduces you to a few BS concepts but it also has some really forced features. The number of times I hacked through a level only for it to tell me I failed. I didn't read the instructions properly it said I MUST miss some blocks ... really. The minimalist movement is quite an interesting challenge.

I did finish all the levels and I think the last level for me was the most disappointing. I'd have expected the campaign to take you through BS then end with you showing your new found flailing skills to their max, but it doesn't. Instead you need to complete a limited movement with deliberate bad cuts mission, it's such an anti climax.

As for the OST tracks, I'm quite happy playing them. I find there is a quality to those maps that is usually lacking in the custom maps.I like the tunes Escape and Full Charge, those are my warm up tracks. Also there aren't many 90/360 custom maps out there yet and there are a bunch in the OST .. though not Escape or Full Charge :steamsad:

I don't have enough space to play 90/360 without hurting myself and destroying things... and as those who know me can confirm, you don't want to get me started on what's wrong with Sony being involved in anything at all for the last 25 years.

But as everyone else has responded, there's no interest in the campaign mode because it's boring and it sucks and there's fun to be had by playing carefully crafted maps to music you actually like by enthusiastic supporters of the game who invest hundreds or thousands of hours of their lives to improving it beyond what some banker has consulted their marketing team about in order to maximize profit within the confines of the most heavily abused and pointlessly complex web of red tape in existence... that being the music industry's brainlessly bureaucratic approach to intellectual property. Which, by the way, does not apply in China, where Sony sits on the floor next to the throne as the third largest copyright and patent trolling corporation on the planet. The problem with the industry is now one of its most successful leaders. The problem won't be fixed any time soon, and until then good artists have to suffer under the weight of limited access to exposure, market manipulation by ratings systems designed to push political propaganda and corporate dogma rather than making even the slightest attempt to reach an audience, and ultimately... industrial stagnation in the face of of unwavering monopoly.

I blame the consumer who lets themself believe that "exclusive content" is valuable because they have never attempted to find the alternative and make a comparison. That consumer.... and it isn't just for Sony products... that kind of nihilistic passive consumerism is quite literally the most lethal behavior on earth. Just ask the Bengal Tiger.

Highly exaggerated lol. There's a lot more extremely difficult expert++ songs that are weeb songs, but otherwise no.

For me personally, some of the later challenges simply aren't fun enough to bother with. I don't want to play the game with one hand or intentionally miss notes to maintain a lower combo. I want to dance.
Aquagrunt 1 FEB 2020 a las 1:58
Yep what everyone else said, I'm really playing for the custom maps
TheGameGuru 1 FEB 2020 a las 16:08
the custom campaigns on the other hand are sooo good!:100: also they'll get you a lot more new songs!

The campaign is less of it being way too hard, and more of it being way too easy, and the skill curve moving way too slowly. Also because it's very tedious and some challenges are not fun.
Lhinoceros 2 FEB 2020 a las 11:36
Seeing the comments I realize I'm not exactly helping the discussion by saying what everyone else has already said, but the problem isn't the difficulty rather that it was added late. As someone who has clocked almost 50 hours with the game I don't play songs on hard or below because it's to slow and to easy to be fun for me, therefore being forced to play songs I can complete on Expert+ on Normal is simply a waste of time, the fact that many of the earlier levels don't even have arrows to chop just makes it all the more effortless to complete.
Omnipotencia 2 FEB 2020 a las 11:45
the campaign is bs, rather than going through patterns from easy to hard which would make sense and teach you all different patterns its wave your arms around or don't move at all i got to 6 and gave up cause those don't move ones suck, its not how you play the game
V wie Falko 2 FEB 2020 a las 17:02
The campaign is not too difficult, it is just boring in the beginning, tedious in the middle and annoying/frustrating in the end. That and the fact that a lot of people have played a lot of BeatSaber and got fed up on it long before the campaign even saw the light of day are the reasons the achievement has not been obtained by more people.
Wilky926 6 FEB 2020 a las 3:58
I gave up on the campaign as soon as i got to the ridiculous hand movement mission. I did the same thing on Audica too... I want to play the game not stand there flailing my arms around like an autistic child.
DaBa 6 FEB 2020 a las 7:42
I'm pretty sure that the reason only 1% of the users finished it is not because of it's difficulty, but because it was introduced so late, that most of us were already past the point where a campaign was an interesting challenge anymore. We were already doing expert+ tracks at that point.
