Also, the issue you're complaining about can be easily addressed using a mod, so do some research next time before you make an embarrassing topic like that.
1.) I usually do not pay the full price for a 2 year old game, no matter how cool you think it is.
2.) I know about sabre tailor, but we are talking about 2 year old game, that charges full price - thats a simple feature that should be included in the game. Not forcing me to download some 3rd party ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is diffcult to tinker with it and might cause a steam ban if unlucky.
3.) I payed 1080.- for the headset and it is worth it. And on the other hand there is a game without demo, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller support and I cant even find a tracklist whats included... And it is getting more expensive then cheaper. Sounds more like a cashgrab no matter the "target audience". But hey I can buy songs for 2 Euro each.
This is the basic of offer and demand law.
1. Game came out may 2019, soo its not even 6 months old
2. How can you get banned on steam for using mods on a single player game?
3. You never have to purchase any additional songs, there is a mod that has built in custom level downloader and lets you import any user created levels
Because they want us to buy their (inferior) music from Steam to make even more money. As a player I think that this is not the right thing to do, but from an economic/marketing point of view this it's understandable.
1.) May 2018 on Steam
2.) You have to rely on 3rd-party non steam mods that tinker with steam apps. I do not know how bans on steam work, but I do not want to risk my 15 year old x-thousand dollar steam account because the devs can't get a basic feature straight.
3.) I know - I can stick with the included ones where I cant find a tracklist of... Or I install a 3rd party mod that lets me play non-licenced music (see 2) and gets broken every now and then.
I have no problem paying for good addon content... but they are selling them as "major updates" without tweeking anything on the game except breaking mods.
Also, you're not even in the slightest bit of risk. The modders are at risk, not you, you're not liable for anything that someone else does, even if you partake in their product. It's the same with every rhythm game with custom songs, and some games even support it. If you're not worried about downloading custom songs, then you're worried about modding it, in which case you still can't get into trouble. You're not liable for modding this game, that is entirely the choice of the modders, and they are at risk, not you.
TLDR: There's Zero Risk, plenty of health benefits, and people have spent over 1,000 hours playing this game and still haven't stopped playing. There's also an extremely welcoming and caring community, which has done extraordinarily kind acts, and often give away money through bounties and tournaments, or even for charity.
Get Real:
- It has missing features that are required to work properly with other Headsets
- It has NO OFFICIAL modsupport, so everything you do is at your own risk
- The "Updates" do not tackle any of this as they are just Songpacks without improvements.
- Now, yesterday they sold themselfs to Facebook, I mean... Cashgrab, lul?
"Also, you're not even in the slightest bit of risk."
Do I know how all those beatsaber mods work? No. But I know that VAC looks for signatures if in Memory data is altered. And since there is no official mod support its gg when your acount is banned.
Is it likely to get banned for modding? - most likely not. Is it possilbe? Yes, because none of us knows how VAC works and how eager they might get when you are violating possible TOS.
It is my account that is at risk... not the github page of some modder.
... The sad thing is: You know how I will not be bothered with all this modding, reinstalling being in fear that my steam account is banned, etc, etc, etc? By downloading a fully modded pirated copy that doesnt cost me a penny :(
modding doesnt violate steam's TOS, nor the game's.
plenty of people enjoy the game even without mods, the PSVR version has sold the most copies and has no mods.
there is no VAC in this game.
this game has hundreds of thousands of people playing with mods, and not 1 person has ever faced any kind of trouble for it, mods are not officially supported in the software, except for songs, which are officially supported, but the devs are supportive of modding, they hire modders, and one of the devs created and runs the custom leaderboard mod and website everyone uses.
$30 is not a lot for this game at all.
i think you're trying to find any excuse to justify your piracy, i also think its hilarious that you you're pretending to be such a good boy so afraid of breaking the rules with a mod, but you're OK with breaking actual law, committing a misdemeanor punishable by thousands of dollars in fines, yeah ok.
if you think the game is too expensive, then have the conviction to stick to that and dont play it.
the only thing you are correct about is that being bought by oculus is a bad thing, but nothing has actually changed, and may not change.
