No Music but game runs fine
I have no music but the game runs fine. Volume is at the max, blasted from other games but not even a faint peep from this.I can see it would be fun WITH music. Any suggestions please?. Thanks.

Do you hear any sound effects? If not, then it's a problem with your audio setup. If you can hear sound effects but no music, check the volume sliders, maybe music is turned down for some reason (I don't remember if you can even do that but hey, worth a shot).

If everything fails, install the game again, without any mods, after cleaning up all the in game folders from residual files. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. My volume slider is at the max, plenty of sounds and music with all my other games just not this one. How does one install the game again ? (sorry I don't know). Much appreciated.!

Only Beat Saber has the issue of no sound. Plenty of sound with all my other games.

Is this an issue with only Beat Saber? It doesn't happen with any other VR games you have?
Not a full solution, but maybe a temporary fix. If you have other headphones/speakers plugged into your pc, unplug them, then launch the game. See if that helps. I've had it happen on random vr games a couple of times.

It's probably piping the audio to the wrong device. Head to "control panel -> sound". Be on the "playback" tab. To check if it's using the the wrong device, load the game up and start a song. Then, check the levels next to each output device - you should see a green bar moving next to a device as the sound plays through it.

The solution is pretty easy, though. You can download "Steam VR advanced settings" and you can select the audio device output at any time. Just launch beat saber, go to the steam VR menu and choose "advanced settings", then navigate to the audio section and select the correct output device. This doesn't always change correctly mid-game, but it can do.

Alternately, sound mirroring works well. In the Steam VR advanced settings menu, in the audio section, just select the correct device for your headset to mirror the audio to. That wont stop it playing through some unconnected output device, but that doesn't really matter as you will be able to play the game fine.

Another option is just to disable any un-needed playback devices in the "Control panel -> sound" window. This will stop games selecting them in error. When you play VR, if you disable all but the VR playback device/s, it has no choice but to play through your headset (re-enabling devices is just as easy as disabling them).
