More expensive on Steam...
Is there a reason why this game costs more on the Steam store over the Oculus store?

Region currency issues maybe? It's the same price for mefor both stores in USD.

Leaderboard are seperate from oculus btw, so you should purchase on steam if you want to compete on the "real" leaderboards.

Different price for different platforms for different regions. Negotiated between the developer and distributor.

Depends on the store really

Just for reference for everyone. Steam has a 'price auto conversion' system for pricing. Essentially it allows devs to set their pricing for various regions steam supports, without having to manually figure out how much a game should cost in Malaysian Ringits or any of the other 3 dozen currencies steam supports. A dev will set a base price, usually in USD or Euro. Then steam auto converts that price to other regions. This is not a straight currency conversion, but based on a variety of factors per region. So a dev will set their price to $19.99 USD. And then steam goes "ok wel that means your game costs X in russian Rubles, and Y in Chinese Yuan, and Z in Brazilian Riels, etc etc"

Oculus might have a similar system, but its conversion rates for regions might be different than steam's. Its also possible Oculus might require devs to set pricing manually per region. I'm not too familiar with their store so I don't know what model they use

It's $0.29 cheaper on steam for me (Canada) Though usually oculus games are a couple dollars cheaper from the exchange rate or w/e. Orbus is $45 on oculus and $50 on steam (Canadian)

I like how OP just uses the generic and vague "more" without giving any details on the price difference being seen. Trying to implicate the difference is just absolutely huge.

It's £15.49 on Steam, £14.99 on Oculus home.

Oculus have to try to entice you to buy content from their store front somehow because it's not like you can use any headset to play all their content is it? If you want to future proof your purchase (incase you chose to swtich brands of headset in the future) buy on Steam. If you're all in on being locked to a spesific brand and eco system, buy on Oculus home. Short term gains vs long term gains!

Region currency, plus maybe a bit of steam fee too to have it on steam?

I don't like oculus store because i rather have my games on steam, plus after facebook's fiasco with sold user info, then i like them even less.

Beat Saber doesn't use that system. They take $19.99 in the US and 19.99€ in the EU

At least in my experience, Oculus is at least $10 more than Steam in Australia. When I got Aubnautica, the Oculus special price was still more than the Steam regular price.
