Who thought minimum hand movement levels is a good idea?
I already look like a moron playing any VR game, and then this thing comes and now I have to pointlessly flair around my hands like a crack addict. These levels have completely halted my progression in the campaign because their just not fun. Is there a mod that removes them?

I think they are great, they teach you game mechanics. I've had no issues passing them because I know how the game mechanics works, it's really simple really, just have to only move your wrists, not arms. From the center you can reach every cube positions easily.

The ones you are talking about are max hand movement, which are dumb as well. But I am talking about minimum hand movements.

I am talking about minimum hand movements, I don't think you understand what I said.

Keep your hands in the middle of the play area, don't move them, just move your wrists (or rotate your wrists, may be a better wording).

I also hope that you understand that what you're saying is "teaching game mechanics to players is dumb".

That's maximum, not minimum. The min one is how much you need to move to reach your goal. The max is how much you can move before you can lose. It doesn't teach anything, it's dumb.

You're right I mixed them up.

But it does teach you how the scoring mechanics works. You just can't do high scores without doing strong movements with your arms (and therefore your hands), so it does teach you how to score.

No it's dumb. I can beat a song without having to move my hands like a maniac for no reason. Or maybe flailing around like an idiot before the score board pops up so you can gain a couple more meters is a normal thing to do in a beat saber level.

The point is not to show you how to beat a song, the point is to show you scoring mechanics. You can't get SS+ without doing this. If you don't care about scoring and is playing only to have fun and don't want a genuine challenge, this campaign is most likely not for you.

Wasn't hard. Beat the 28 level in two sessions, 2 hours each
Not my favorite though

Yeah, only moving your wrists is pretty bad form honestly. While it may be more tiring at first. Using your whole arm to strike at blocks is generally more accurate and gets more points. Even when you are using just the wrist or forearm for the striking motion on fast patterns, you still need to use whole arm to position yourself anyways. Might as well learn to loosen up your upper body. When I did it made Expert+ quite a bit more managable

I agree that I'm not a fan of the minimum hand movement stipulation and others such as disappearing arrows or max and min missed cuts. I just want to listen to different songs and bash boxes synced in a casual manner.

I find some of these minimum hand movement have no fail modifier - just play normally until you reach the score and windmill the rest of the game :D. As for non no fail, I just imagined extra notes.
Tenor Sounds Sep 9, 2019 @ 2:53pm
You can beat them w/out flailing like crazy or trying to do a bunch of arbitrary movements between notes, just do big swings with your whole arm and string those swings together smoothly from note to note; treat it like a dance. If you have to do a bunch of arbitrary flailing to beat those campaign levels, your general technique might rely more heavily on your wrists and so that level is going to be inherently more challenging.

If you just want to play songs and not worry about score/technique, then you'll keep coming across this kind of problem in the campaign. It's not Solo Mode.

I love Beat Saber bit the idea of "rewarding" a player for playing bad has never been good. I don't know who decided a level with max movement or a level where you have to miss or have to do a bad cut is a good idea cause it is absolutely idiotic. It's exactly the same as putting a person in a war game and then put an achievement for missing the enemy. Beat Saber is great minus the couple levels with idiotic ideas.

Challenge isnt the problem, the value is. It doesnt teach you anything, only that you look retarded. I've been playing with full swings before i even started with the campaign. It's not possible to get the minimum by playing like it's meant to be played, you need to move your hands the whole song like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, that's the problem
