Is LAN connection supported?
I was interested on the game but I would like to play private games with my brother on the same house with a Ethernet Wire RJ45. Is it possible???

I´ve seen from videos that if you join single player / skirmish, the menu lets you choose between IA (with their difficulty modes) or let the "cell" opened. Is it intended to be played on LAN? I´m curious.

PD: I want to support the game, for sure!!! As a personal question asked directly to developpers, What have been your main influences???

People says the game is a CoH clone, but I consider it an insult consider it a copy. I´ve played a good ton of Rts and Rtt games (being the second one my favourites), and I see influences from Battle for the Middle Earth 1, or even Praetorians and Imperium (the lastest ones were made by Spanish developpers, which many of us remember to play on our childhood on my country, for sure.

So It´s pretty much pleasant to see the peasants mechanics transporting resources or the game being based heavily on spamming units and formations along of fights in a smaller scale than Total War games.

Greetings!!

There is currently no way to play only through LAN with no internet connection. We've discussed this long ago internally and although we agree this is something nice in the end not that many people do actually use it and as such we've focused on other things. This may be added in the future, but even if so - that's going to be a long road.

What a shame, considering all Strategy games I´ve played had it.....

That is very disappointing and will force my group to stick with other RTS's

Nope it was never added and I'm pretty certain we will not add that support. We've had lots of plans, but the unfortunate event with GOG release ruined many of them.

What happened with the GOG release? New player here, trying to get some context.

We released the GOG version, although 10 months later than the Steam release. A third party was supposed to port our game to GOG, but they failed and we had to do it ourselves, starting from scratch. It took so long because we couldn't afford to skip all the patches, DLC and planned content for Steam while doing so. As a result, the console version was also pushed much later, even after GOG release. And many things we wanted to add had to be skipped, in order to find time for GOG port. We will not be adding LAN support, that's where the topic stands at the moment.

Thanks for taking the time to post and to share the situation with us. I'm sorry to hear about what happened, and while I would have loved to have LAN support in the game I can totally understand.

Much respect for how good the game is and also for doing a GOG release. I can't wait to see what you guys do next.

If you seek more context, you can always go to the Ancestors Legacy GOG forums, there's a pinned thread with official apologies from us, posted at the time of release there.
