Ratmans stasis

I need to get this out of my system. Is Ratman dead or still alive? (though the question won't be answered)

After giving some tought, 2 theories comes to mind.
1) He died from loss of blood from his injury with the turrets or other cause of death
2) He is still asleep as Chell was

As we can guess that he never left aperture. If he wanted to, firstly he would had saved Chell, due of his guilt. But he never did camed to save Chell and she was left to sleep for quite a long time (as we know).

What are your thoughts about this? Maybe have different theories?

It's hard to say. The Stasis Beds may act also as medic machines. That, or when in stasis, all bodily fuctions such as bleeding to death may be paused.
But another question remains: Do the Stasis Beds have a wake-up date? Or is Rattman in there indefiniately?
If he is in there without a wake-up date, maybe Wheately might have used him to try and escape, but died in the process; though now that I think of it, I don't think Rattman would have trusted Wheately, unless he realized that Wheately was the Intellegance Dampening Core. In which case, probably also would have ditched Wheately.
So maybe he still is in sleep.

Well In Portal 2 you can hear him near a wall,next to a painting ,there are many theories about what he says cause they are scramblings ,you could check youtube for that sooo i hope he's alive I know he did bad things [working on glados] but he is generaly nice and did save Chell

If he is alive and not sleeping than a hole appears: Why didn't he saved Chell from all that sleeping?
There are infinite theories from this point, he might have tried to get to Chell but failed or found something more serious that Chell had to wait, or just went crazier than crazy.
This "hole" could be one of the interesting, shocking parts if portal 3 ( or another DLC) is in creation. So far it's another mystery that makes people go crazy crazy.

I agree. I think it's definitely something along those lines. and if he was awake, it's possible he just tried to lay low if he knew chell was awake. especially after GLaDOS was re awakened. Plus Wheatley probably wouldn't notice him anyways... So who knows. If they do make a sequel thing, it'll probably be Portal 2: Episode One or somethin...

He is still alive. He has made new scribblings since Portal, and can be heard talking in Portal 2.

The comic said there was no way to get her out, but she could be saved if put into indefinite sleep. Rattman had to choose between puting her into a long sleep, or letting her die. Also, if he's dead, who said that in the final rat den?

rattman is dead or in stasis. the places you hear him talking are probably just recordings or chell might be a little insane (think about it).

Ah, but in the comic his stasis pod was not closed, meaning it was not active. in the comic's last pannels, a paper is hanging off the side of the pod, butwhen starting portal 1, we see the pod open from the middle like the doors of a Ralph's or other store.

rattman slept in chells stasis bed, you can see that in the first chamber that the stasis bed is gone, soGLaDOS probably killed him. Even if this is not that accurate (based on your opinion) the game takes places about 30 millenia (based of the portal wiki).

3) from what I've heard (although my source may be unrelieable) the portal and half life series' timelines go side by side. (while half life happened, so did portal. while hl2 hapened, portal 2 happened) and before you say "well then where was the combine?" If you were an interdimentional imperial force, would you focus more on your capital, or one person in an abandoned computer run reasearch facility?
