depends on the situation I'm in and who isn't trying to kill me
GLaDOS wins for insultive sarcastic humor

Wheatly was nice before his transfer into Glados body, Glados was nice when she was a potato. They are both evil (in a way) when they are in the machine... So there is only one character in the Portal series that wins this. Space Core... He is always nice and never annoying. You cant get tired of him talking about space.

Space Core wins...SPACE CORE ALWAYS WINS...

What are you two on about?
First of he saves you from Glados final chamber. He has no obligation to do that considering trying to help Chell the first time got him nearly destroyed.
Secondly, he guides you to Glados' primary defence systems so that you can sabotage them and then confront Glados.
Then you have to defeat Glados by putting Wheatley into the transfer. At the time, it was the only way for Chell to escape, and Wheatley wasn't corrupted, so he did what he did for altruistic reasons.

There's no irony involved. It's tragedy. There's no choice in the circumstances but to put Wheatley into a position that was guranteed to corrupt him, so in doing something heroic he tragically became the villain.
