portal 2 ''quit game'' bug

I was playing today, a few weeks after the break again and I played the game a few workshops. the game will be fully operational. However, when I want to quit the game, the game freezes and windows warn that Portal 2 will not respond and force close the program. This happened only yesterday. whether some of the same problems?


I played in a few online game. not with my friends, but it's pretty normal online play. I do not know where to depend on, but the background was a full-time buzz and something strange sound which is not normal. the game is dependent on whether or a person, whom I played? whether any of the same problems?

yes this seamed to happen right after the last steam update there are many having this issue

Yeah, I've got it too. Never happened before. The last two updates have been kinda buggy. They've been trying to add a few features to the console versions, but seem to have compromised stability on the PC. In the update before this, all the rock textures turned white. They fixed that after serveral weeks, but now many people are getting crash bugs. Do they not beta test this stuff? The "Crash on exit" thing seems to be pretty wide spread.

Same here. I can play normal but the game freezes on exit. Error BEX in Module steam.dll_unloaded. The crash-dumps started on 07/09. That's just after the last update.

on my windows 8 64bit, i hit quit on portal 2, then it just sits there, for about 1-2mins, then i am returned to desktop, and it says: Portal2.exe has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution for the problem, then it says close program, and everything is fine. Custom maps work fine, everything is absolutley fine, except for exiting.
